Hello everyone ! I'm new !

My family of 5 (kids 5,7,9) is going to WDW on august 15th for 7 nights at Carribean Beach resort. We have DDP and the waterparks but don't plan to take the park hopper. We will use Disney transportation (no car). It's our second trip in WDW with our children (only MK for 2 days last time). This time, we are not sure to take 4 or 5 parks days. Here are our plans :

1st day : Arriving in the morning from Daytona by car. Checking-in. ADR at 4:00 Ohana.
Day 2 : HS. ADR Minnie's summer dinner & fantasmic package at H&V at 3:45.
Day 3 : Waterpark day. ADR 1900 fare dinner at 4:35.
Day 4 : AK. ADR ROL package Tusker House dinnerat 4:15.
Day 5 : Waterpark Day. ADR Whispering Canyon at 5:40.
Day 6 : Epcot. ADR Akursus dinner at 6:25.
Day 7 : MK. ADR BOG lunch at 12:10 and ADR Crystal Palace dinner at 6:30.
Day 8 : Flying home early in the morning.

What would you do on the first day since we have an Ohana ADR at 4:00 ? Would you add a 5th park day ?

We would like to add an out of pocket breakfast buffet. Would it be a good idea to add a Boma breakfast on day 5 and then, tour the AKL, then play mini-golf and visit Blizzard Beach ? Which waterpark is best for kids : BB or TL ?

We would like to visit the new Disney Springs, when would you do it ? We have already seen Downtown Disney in the past. Is Disney Springs worth it to see ?

Is the Chip & Dale sing-a-long campfire worth it or would it be better to go at our hotel's campfire on one of the waterpark day ?

Please feel free to help me and give me your opinions ! Thanks in advance !

Do you know that even without the hopper you can go from waterpark to main park in the same day?

Unless something has changed drastically you get the same number of waterpark admissions as you have days on your main tickets, so you could do both on the same day.

For a relatively short trip you might not want to do that, but in case you didn't know I wanted to make sure. :)

I read the other day that due to weather conditions and the brush fires happening, they aren't currently doing the campfires. I'm sure things will change by August but keep that in mind just in case.

I personally have never considered a giant outdoor mall (dtd or Disney Springs) worth a trip. I end up going because I'm outvoted and because it's where they keep Raglan Road restaurant, but unless you have shopping or specific dining to do I personally would skip it and do more fun things.

Your staying at Beach Club? First day I would hang out at the pool until dinner (and probably try to get a later ADR so I would have more time).

I would also do a 5th park day (MK or maybe AK with the new Pandora stuff) instead of a second water park. Maybe keep blizzard beach if you were interested in mini golf. Do both the same day.

Adding a breakfast? Again look at your resort. Cape May is a really good character breakfast.

Disney Springs I can take it or leave it.

I would also stay at BC for the campfire. Imo it's not worth the time to travel to another resort.

My family of 5 (kids 5,7,9) is going to WDW on august 15th for 7 nights at DBC resort. We have DDP and the waterparks but don't plan to take the park hopper. Me personally never like going to a park the first day, I like to settle in and tour the resort I'm staying at men make it a pool day. I also believe you get as many waterpark days as park days so if that's the case maybe check out a waterpark. (5 day ticket = 5 waterpark days I believe)

Disney springs is worth the trip, tons of food and free entertainment in the streets with performers and music it's so much fun! Also I always feel like I see so many kids having a blast there and the location is beautiful too. One of my favorite activities is to grab a shake from ghiradelli fountain and sit near the stage and watch the performance and all the kids and people dancing to the music. If you can make time for it!

definitely stay at your resort you are paying for, relax and hit the pools and after ohana you can hop in the monorail and watch the fireworks from outside the park

DBC = Beach Club correct? If so, have you stayed there before? I ask because of the pool area and all it has to offer. Your current schedule doesn't leave a lot of time to be at resort and enjoy and I'm sure kids your age would love it. We put off going to water parks for years due to kids be perfectly happy spending time at resorts pool, slide and lazy river.

With current plan, you would prob do best to buy the 4-park magic ticket (one day at each park) and then pay OOP for water park. As I understand it you now must purchase the hopper to add the the plus feature or buy separate WP tickets.

Would you be willing to leave Daytona early enough to make it for OOP breakfast at Cape May Cafe with a late morning ADR? Could do that before checking in then enjoy the pool before heading to Ohana. They also offer a breakfast buffet at Captains Grille at YC although you would need to confirm it will continue with temporary relocation to Ariels in BC during renovations.

I think you could get away with just one water park day & spend other at resort. I would just stay at BC and enjoy campfire, marshmallows and movie there versus heading over to Ft W especially using Disney transportation ...that will take awhile. And that's if they are even doing campfires at that time.

Also at younger age our kids preferred BB and their family raft ride is a lot of fun where all 5 could ride together vs new one at TL will only allow 4. BB also has a "tween" area in addition to kiddie area which might appeal to your aged kids.

I'm reading Caribbean Beach resort.I would drive from Caribbean Beach to 'Ohana since you have a car. Check to see if you have free parking. Taking buses could take up to an hour or more, no direct buses between the two. Also to get to 1900 Park Fare. Can take taxi or Uber, but not too knowledgeable about that. You might want to drive to the water parks too. I understand you now have to go to Disney Springs, change buses, then to Disney water park.

I would buy 4 day ticket, then upgrade if you decide to change a water park to theme park.

Hi - you should wander over to the CBR (that's the standard abbreviation for Caribbean Beach Resort fyi) dedicated thread, at the "resorts" section of this forum.

In particular, please prepare yourself for the construction that will be going on at CBR (in particular, the regular food court will be closed, but they will have a buffet breakfast and dinner, and grab/go food all day). Post some questions at the end of that thread - very helpful crew there - but definitely read the first post on page 1, as it fills you in on the construction. HTH! Here's the link:

My daughter (9) and I are always eager to get to the parks. I would add a 5th day. If you go to MK, you can just take the monorail to O'hana and then monorail back to MK after dinner. We always spend more than 1 day at MK.

I wouldn't go out of my way for a trip to Disney Springs unless you have something specific to do there. It's not that spectacular that I would sacrifice park time to go there. I actually prefer the old Downtown Disney. But, I know many people thoroughly enjoy the rethemed version. I just wouldn't personally take a trip there on such a short trip.

I feel like a 4:35 ADR is really early for a waterpark day for our family.

Especially since it's at a hotel that you aren't staying. You would need to leave the water park at like 2 at the latest, take the bus to your hotel shower and dress then take a bus to Mk and monorail to the GF.
