I have been on Atkins for 8 weeks and have lost 15 pounds. I really miss my fruit and oatmeal in the morning and really want to switch to WW.

I have started eating 1/3 cup oatmeal in the morning and I am feeling much better. I just want to eat (in my mind) more normal.

I have great success with Weight Watchers in the past and now want to get the weight off that I kept on after my kids.

What is the best way to start WW again? Is there a way I can find out the point counts of foods without joining? I really don't need the meetings since I have you great people.

I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers if that matters.

Hello - I do WW online and that's where I get most of my info. BUT I think you could do it if you have the points books from before and then check out Dottie's Weight Loss Zone online. She has a great website. Good Luck!

I also do WW online. I don't know how that translates for the lifetime membership, but I would certainly check it all out. If nothing else, go to 1 or 2 meetings, pick up all the latest info, and then come to us for your support!;)
Good Luck!!!

If you can't do WW online, I agree with Sharon, if you go to a meeting and get all the info then just do it on your own and don't go back to the meetings. I go to the meetings because I need to be forced to weigh in. I tried the atkins thing for a bit too but I couldn't take it. I love WW because you can eat everything. I still try to limit the amount of carbs but while I am counting my points and I don't skip my cereal or oatmeal in the morning. I love nutruition for women oatmeal 2pts for the envelope. YUM YUM!

oh, i really like that nutrition for women oatmeal too and I didn't realize it was only 2 pts!

anyhoo---princessmomma -- sound like you are a seasoned WW - so i just wanted to give my .02. I have unofficially been on WW for almost a year, meaning I have never attended a meeting or joined the program officially. Yea, I'm a penny pincher. I found my support group here on WISH and I use a PDA program for pt counting. How did you count points before? Are you hoping to upgrade to the flex pts program? do you have a PDA? i'd be happy to send you site with PDA WW journal program? or how about ebay? you can buy the latest books, calculators, sliders there? Also, there are some "official" WW folk here that may buy for you what you need (members only stuff) and mail to you?

point being, there are other ways to count pts and remain cheapola? i do it, there are others on WISH with me I know it!

WW online has it's benefits too -- recipe pt figuring for one.

let us know what you decide so we can help you transition. PD and virtual encouragment to you!!! i'm glad you are open to what works for you, we are all so unique!

No advice from me. I just want to wish you luck with this. Finding the right program for you is key to being successful :)

Thanks for all the information. Actually, I met goal weight about 8 years ago so there were no POINTS then.

I am really not familar with the number of points allowed each day. No, I do not have a PDA. I am a real cheapo too and I figure weight watchers has enough of my money. I am really only 10 pounds from goal as I lost 15 on Atkins. I want to get back into eating a well rounded diet (in my mind).

What do I need as a bare minimal to start? In notice they have a starter pack for $20 on their website. What is in it?

Since you are lifetime you can rejoin with out paying the start up fee-just the meeting fee. It might be worth it to get the points finder & help you understand the point system. My area is running 3 weeks for $30.
