I think I have narrowed our restaurants down to the following:
Garden Grill
Tusker House Breakfast
Trails End Dinner
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Whispering Canyon Lunch/Dinner
Kona Cafe Breakfast
Ohana Dinner

Now I need to pick one more lunch/dinner. These are the restaurants I'm considering. Each has pro and cons so I thought I'd ask for some opinions. We are 4 adults and a 9 year old. We will be paying OOP.
50's Prime Time
Chef Mickey's Brunch
Rainforest Cafe (DTD)

We love Chef Mickey's and Rainforest Cafe. We have never eaten at 50's Prime Time so I have no opinion there. I think the big difference between Chef Mickey's and Rainforest would be the characters. Do you feel like you need to see the characters and get pictures with them? Do you have Downtown Disney scheduled for another day?

I'd cross CM off the list. You already have 2 character meals. I'd pick based on what will be convenient. Neither the Rainforest or 50's is worth traveling out of your way for.

Just based on what you have posted, I would pick 50's. We were not huge fans of RC at DTD, and there are quite a few of those around in other places.

I think 50's will be the most reasonable price for paying OOP, and it is unique to Disney.

However, as the previous poster said, I would also consider convenience as a big factor. If I were going to be at AK, then I would pick RC. If I were going to be at HS, I would pick 50's.

We have eaten at 50's PT 2 times and liked it both times. We like that type of food and they have lots of things on the menu that we will eat (compared to other restaurants where there's only a couple of items we like). The same goes for CM and RF, which is why those are on our list. We don't necessarily need to see the characters at CM, we will see all the characters at other meals except Minnie (which is my favorite, but can meet her elsewhere in the parks). One of the reasons I have CM on the list is because it will probably be the last time we consider eating here since the next time we come DD will be over 10 and we'll have to pay adult price for her and she just doesn't eat enough to justify the cost.
We do plan to go to DTD one afternoon/evening.

You're right, crossing of CM is probably a good choice since we already have other character meals. We will be at HS and at DTD so both would be convenient.

All would be convenient because I have them planned on days where we'll be at DTD for RC, HS for 50's PT, or MK for CM. 50's PT or RC are a lot cheaper than CM so that's another reason to cross off CM. I know RC have other locations besides Disney, but none near me, and we've never eaten at one. But maybe we'll run across one of those on another vacation and we could try it then.

i loved 50's. food was great and the restaurant is so cool. we didn't get a lot of antics from our server but still had an awesome time. the themeing is top notch.
