"The Company will reimburse You for the following: (a) pre-paid non-refundable cancellation charges imposed by the Travel Suppliers; (b) The fees incurred by You for re-depositing frequent traveler awards (frequent flyer miles, hotel point rewards, etc.) in Your account if You used awards for any part of a Trip that is canceled for a covered reason. The Company will not pay more than an aggregate amount of $250.00 for all Trips while coverage is in effect and for fees paid for re-depositing frequent traveler awards."

This is making my head spin. One reason for buying travel insurance at this point is, if I cancel my European trip this summer (later - no way am I canceling yet), I don't want to lose $1,200 in Delta miles "redeposit" fees. I would get the "cancel for any reason" clause. HOWEVER am I reading this right? That they will not pay more than $250 total for redeposit fees? It's hard to tell if that is a singular or plural "you" in the paragraph, but then it references an "aggregate amount for all trips" so I don't know what to think. The $1,200 is across 4 people, 2 different flights. If it was $250/pp, then $1K back might be OK, but does anyone else interpret this as $250 for the whole policy that covers 4 people?

Also, I'm suspicious of the phrase "canceled for a covered reason." I wonder if the reason we'd cancel, corona virus fears, which falls under the "cancel for any reason" clause is actually not a "covered reason." Does that make sense? Like, the policy is differentiated by "covered reasons" (e.g. I fall off a balcony and have to be medivaced back home) or "any reason" (corona virus fears, not covered under "regular covered reasons.") Gahhh!!

Yes, "cancelled for a covered reason" does refer to to the specific coverage in your cancellation clause. Usually that is things like being too sick to cruise yourself, rather than concern over getting sick (no matter how serious that concern is). A lot of people are finding their trip insurance does not cover coronavirus cancellations. That said, if you have "cancel for any reason" insurance, that would be a covered reason, although often they cap the amount recoverable under that clause to something like 75%.

Yes, it's 75%. Which for a $450 plan, it could potentially get me back $750 in the fees plus $800 for intra-Europe flights, so it would actually be worth it...IF it actually covers it.

I've been on hold this whole time and they are not picking up. Doesn't bode well for travel insurance if you can't actually get them on the phone to be able to use it, ugh.
