We're going in November, first time to Disney and on free quick service dining.

We have a 5 year old and a 2 year old who will turn 3 the day we get back. Sometimes they eat a lot, other times hardly anything, there is no way to foresee...but they are VERY insistent on getting the same things...so if one of them gets a Mickey milk, they are both going to need a Mickey milk. :rolleyes1

I understand that DH, 5 year old, and I each get 2 CS meals and 2 snacks a day. I've thought about bringing some kid plates/cups with so I can just divvy out the Mickey milk or what have you in cups and then they won't notice that they didn't each get one. Then they could split a kids meal and share some of our food to fluff it out a bit. So that's the fall back option. (Do you foresee any problems with using that as a fallback? We'll have a stroller with to hold the tableware.)

What I would like to do is use 2 adult meals and 2 child meals up for lunch in the park and then just use 2 adult meals at night at the resort (Pop) and we'd feed them off of our plates. That way they each get a kid meal at the same time and each share at the same time. We wouldn't be using over our scheduled meal allotment totally, BUT we would be going over the 2 adult, 1 child thing on our card by trying to use that second kid meal at the same time as the first.

Is this in any way possible? Are some CMs easier going about it than others or is it strictly not allowed? Can DH and I get in line together but order separately and he passes the card back to me and he gets the 2 adults, 1 kid meals and I immediately after use the card to then get the second kids meal? Can we wait in line twice to do that if they don't want us back to back? Do we have to go to two separate eating establishments to get two kid meals? Any tips?????

It's not an option for us to just by the 2 year old a kids meal or an extra milk or anything, as we're on a VERY tight budget. Also, we're definitely not trying to break any rules here like using a child's meal for an adults even though I know they are the tallied the same on the card...just trying to use our 2 kids meals that we're allotted each day at the same time instead of separately.

Thanks so much for your help!

in general, they will not ring up more than what the card says (2 A 1 C) So one of you cannot order 2 adult meals and 2 kid meals at the same time & pay with the one card. BUT...

You will each have a KTTW card (the meal plan is on the Key to the World card...which is also your park ticket & your hotel room key.) All of the meal entitlements are on both cards so you won't have to pass "a card" back and forth, you don't have to go to separate restaurants, and you don't have to wait to both be using the cards at the same time. You get in one line & order your meal & a child meal, pay with your card. Hubby is in another line and order his meal and a child meal. No problem - each of you has ordered & used the card without exceeding the numbers on the card.

You will run out of kids meals of course, unless you do skip ordering the dinner meal for them.

There are some very large meals that could easily be shared in the parks. For example, the chicken & ribs platter at Cosmic Rays (adult meal) has 1/4 of a chicken, a 1/2 slab of ribs, mashed potatoes and green beans: it's easily large enough for 2 adults to share so you could easily get two of those and share it with the kiddos. Also some good balanced meals available at Sunshine Seasons in The Land building/Epcot (the Asian platter is a full plate of food, plenty to share)

Honestly - if you're not that picky about where you eat, go to buffets. There are good ones, and the 2 yo is allowed to eat for free. This also counts at all you can eat dinners like Garden Grill. We did a character dinner there, and even though my so. Was 1 and not on the the DP, because it was all you care to eat, they even brought out the kids options.

MK has Crystal Palace buffet or dinner at Liberty Tree
HS has Hollywood and Vine buffet
AK has Tusker House buffet
EP has Garden Grill - fam style all you can eat
There are some buffets at the other resorts too!! Chef Mickeys, Cape May Cafe

Just a thought.

Oops. Just noticed you're doing the Quick Service plan! Sorry - buffets won't apply :(.

It has never been an issue for us to get an extra plate, or a small cup. Usually the forks and spoons are out for you to get yourself. I don't think you will need to carry that stuff around with you. Getting 2 adult meals and 2 kids meal will probably be a lot of food with two little ones. I always had a couple of zip lock bags in the stroller in case the kids didn't finsih their food. We would bring their grapes or cookies in the ziplock for snacks later.
As far as the card, you could each go through the line with your own card.

Awesome! Thanks guys! I was so stressed out about this yesterday, and here we each get our own card. Woot! Woot! :cool1:
