I have a friend who is going to the World in August. It's their first trip and I've been helping her plan. They are planning to do their last day in the Animal Kingdom, but they will also be leaving for home that day and will probably be needing to catch the ME bus around 3-ish or so.

They will have 2 Table Service credits to burn before they leave, so they are trying to figure out where to eat breakfast early, and get to the Animal Kingdom in time to see something before they leave to go home.

They are staying at the All Star Movies. Right now, they have an ADR at Chef Mickey's for 8:30 am. She's not really sure they want to do another character meal. They aren't particularly interested in Donald's Breakfastasauras.

I've suggested BOMA. Logistically, will this be a nightmare or will it work? They'd have to take the All Star bus to the AK, and then to the Lodge, and then back again. Correct? How much time should they allow to get back and forth? How early can you get an ADR at BOMA for breakfast?

Any other options you can think of, please shout out! Thanks!!

The transportation to go to Boma does seem like a nightmare. Also, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't AK open a tad earlier than the other parks? It seems to me that they aren't really going to have much time there if they do a big breakfast.

I guess what I would do is take a cab to Boma to save some time, get the earliest Boma ADR (which is hopefull around 7:30), be out by 8:30, and take the AK resort bus over to the park, which should be pretty quick.

We did Boma for breakfast before AK.

We were at POP, and had an 8:00 ADR. We were in AK by 9:30. We also had 2 people with ECVs, which take more time in my opinion.

We really enjoyed Boma for breakfast.

Given your friend's situation, I think CM would take up too much time for them.

ETA: Since AKL is so close to AK, it doesn't take long for the AKL buses to go back & forth from AK. We've gone from AK to AKL several other times, and never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for a bus.

AK opens at 9, except on the EMH day - which is 8.

No different than the other parks.

Thanks! I swear, way back "in the day" when AK first opened (maybe my 2001 trip), I thought they had some 7:00 a.m. openings. Guess I was hallucinating again! :teeth:

So, did you take the AK bus from POP, then change busses to the AKL bus? Is there a bus that early to the AK? (honestly, we're not early risers usually, so we've never had to take an "early" bus!)

It sounds like BOMA might be the way to go for them if they like the menu!

Thanks again!
Marcy

Maybe it is just me but that seems like a whole lot of trouble to use up 2 TS credits. Is there a reason they can't use them earlier? I would not want to spend my last day rushing around to eat. Maybe a nice breadfast before AK and grab lunch at a CS before heading back to the hotel.
Good luck :thumbsup2

Yes, we took the AK bus from POP, then the AKL bus.

Buses start running 7ish so that people can get to Donald's for early seatings.

Personally, I wouldn't want an ADR earlier than 8, in case of a bus delay.

Christine - AK may have opened earlier then. :)

i'm not familiar with the Bma breakfast menu, but if it were *me, i'd get to the park early, do the breakfastosaurus just cause it's convenient and IN the park. with the first ressies of the day, you get in the park before opening and they won't have to fool with too many buses. the food is sufficient enough to make the convenience worth it's weight.
