Please Help Me Eliminate One

We are doing FD in OCT also and we are paying oop for B&C. My dd17 and I will split a meal and save room for a wonderful sundae so paying oop makes sense for us. Who knows, we may skip the meal and just have a sundae!!!:goodvibes My ds14 and dh will have to get a meal though!

I'd cut 50's, Sci-Fi, and Tuttio as they all had crappy food on the multiple occasions I've been to each of them.

Then i'd double up for like Brown Derby or something.

Sci Fi or 50's because both have mediocre food at high prices. 50's is not even as good as Crackerbarrel.

Apparently, I'm in the minority, but we loved lunch at Sci-fi. That was one of the best burgers I've had in years. We probably wouldn't choose Sci-fi for dinner, but we'll definitely be back for lunch. If it were me, I'd go to B&C for dessert & pay OOP. IMHO, B&C's food isn't as good as it used to be & presently doesn't compare to the burgers at Sci-fi. There's a few on your list that I personally wouldn't choose, but it's not my trip. ;) Go & enjoy!

ETA: We've never been to 50's, so I can't comment on it. Also, we don't use DDP, so we don't base our meals on DDP value. That could make a difference to some. Oh yeah, I vote for Hollywood Brown Derby too. :teeth:

Sci Fi (lunch)
50's Prime Time (lunch)
O'hana (dinner)
Teppan Edo (lunch)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Cape May (dinner)
Yak & Yeti (lunch)
Tutto Italia (lunch)
Chefs de France (lunch)

I would chop either Sci Fi or Crystal Palace dinner. Just my thoughts but the other places are among our favorites lists. Hope whatever you choose you have a great trip!!! :)

We too, also love Sci-fi. The atmosphere and the food are great you can milk shakes for drinks on the DDP. My choice would be the duplicate. Why go to the same place twice. Try them all.

I agree with PP's who state the following:

Hurricane Hanna's (CS) has the same burgers as B&C:thumbsup2
Skip B&C for a meal and just go for the Icecream and atmosphere:thumbsup2
Pay OOP at B&C :thumbsup2

We've stayed at BC/BCV the last 4 times and had icecream at B&C. DS & I ate lunch at B&C OOP last visit. The Roast Beef Sandwich was good but NOT WORTHY of a TS credit. DS had the burger/fries and got sick later. (I'm not blaming B&C on this... never determined the cause).

The atmosphere and the icecream are nice and I would do BOTH again (Atmosphere and Icecream).

Here are my experiences..

Thanks for all the advice and well wishes for my trip! My poor family has had to endure months of me badgering them into looking at menus. I think they just pretend to look now, to humor me. :rotfl:

I originally booked the dinner ADR for CP because my DH liked the buffet menu, especially the prime rib and shrimp. I agree with those of you that said that I should try something different so I have talked DH into skipping it this trip.

I also agree with those that said that the menus are kind of similar at Sci Fi and B&C, so I am going to keep Sci Fi to check out the funky car tables and just take the fam to B&C for dessert out of pocket on DD's 14th birthday on the 26th.

That leaves me with an opening to take the place of CP.....maybe the new Italian or Mexican restaurant? Leave it to me to first have one restaurant too many, and now be one too short! :rotfl2:

50's Prime Time- (are you going to be at Hollywood studios on 2 days at lunchtime?)

We prefer the Sci Fi- it's a must do for us(the ambiance not the food)

I would cancel Sci-Fi. It gets great reviews from most people but the menu never sounded very special to me... but on the other hand, it isn't very expensive, so perhaps you could keep it and pay OOP for it like TruBlu suggested.

I agree.. I can not wrap my head around the fact that people love this restuarant. The atmosphere is cool yes.. but the food is beyond sub par!

We will be at DHS 2 days at lunchtime. Both Saturdays that we are at DW (10/23 & 10/30) DHS has am EMHs and we LOVE RNRC and TOT so we will be there for 2 half days to ride them multiple times. We will leave after lunch and hop to a different park. I have to admit that 50's Prime Time scares me a little.:rolleyes1

Thanks everyone for all of your help! I have to admit that Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time were at the top of the list to cut, mostly because of the reason a lot of you gave about the atmosphere being better than the food. We usually go on such a tight budget that we don't eat at the sit-down restaurants, so it is a hard choice to pick from all the great places I've read about on the DIS. I have thought about going to Sci Fi for just a couple of appetizers and shakes, out of pocket and saving the credits for B&C or doing the opposite and getting sundaes out of pocket at B&C and eating at Sci Fi. I agree with all of you that said they hate the idea of eliminating!

We too are thinking of going just for shakes & fries (leaving a tip of course). I think its more along the lines of applebees type of place. Mainly going for the kids so i wont be getting rid of that one. I will also be paying out of pocket. We have a reservation for Ohana anyway that night so i dont want to fill up too much for lunch so i think shakes & fries are the way to go.
