Please help me decide which week for best holiday experience

Okay we were really contemplating braving the crowds by going 12/26 - 12/30 but airfare costs have caused us to table that idea. Now the choices are 11/22 - 11/26 (4 nights) or 1/1 - 1/6 (5) nights.

I like both choices for different reasons. The November dates will get us in the holiday spirit but we will only get 4 nights. The January dates give us an extra day but I'm worried that it won't give us the same holiday feel. Based on what I have read, most of the holiday decorations will be up at least part of the January week but I don't know if it will feel as magical.

Please help me decide!

We usually go the week of Thanksgiving. My wife is a school principal and we have 2 kids. School schedule plays a major role. We love going at this time of year. The holiday feel is wonderful. The weather can be tricky. Some years it has been warm, others cool, and one year it was crazy cold. So, be prepared for anything. The decorations really get us into the holiday spirit. I know an extra day would be nice. It really comes down to what you and your family wants from the trip. Best of luck.

Thanksgiving week crowds will be much lighter. Plenty of holiday spirit to go around for sure. We went a couple of years ago and are planning to go again this year.

Thanks for the input, I guess what we are looking for is some holiday cheer!! I think we would get that during Thanksgiving week but I'm really hoping someone will tell me that January will give us a little too so that we get the extra day

The last two years I've gone around 1/2. Decorations we're up but it didn't have a lot of "holiday cheer". It definitely felt like the holidays were over.

That's what I'm afraid of, but looking at airfare going the week of Thanksgiing we would only get 3 full days and I just don't know if that's with it.

The week after thanksgiving has the lowest crowds..if you can go that would be ideal for the Party

I've got 2 girls in college, that week won't work at all!! We are leaning toward the 1/1 - 1/6 for the extra day. Hopefully we'll get to see a little holiday cheer hanging around still!!
