I need to make reservations and can't decide. I have a 4 yr old and he loves Chip and Dale but he wouldn't know the other characters. Sounds like food is good but interaction is calm. Goofy's sounds fun, more characters, but okay food. What about Plaza Inn? We won't be able to get into the park the day that we eat breakfast as we are doing it the day that we leave... so is that even possible (to do PI). We've never done a character meal before and not sure we'll do it again (too pricey - however this meal came with a package :) ).

Thanks,
Kathy

Typically I would say Plaza Inn, but you can only use that on a day you are going to the park. They will not let you in just for a meal. HOw about Lilo and Stitch at paradise pier? I've heard good things about the food and interaction. The characters are usually Lilo, Stitch, Minnie and I've heard Pluto and Daisy.

If Chip and Dale is really all that you are wanting to see then I would definitely do Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian. Chip and Dale are also at Goofy's but I think Storyteller's food is better. My vote would definitely be Plaza Inn if you were going to be in the park, but since you aren't my next suggestion would by Storyteller's.

I agree with the previous poster. Storyteller Cafe had the characters from Brother Bear as well as Chip and Dale and tends to have better food quality. Goofy's Kitchen on the other hand has a much more variety of characters. That being said, we made our reservations about brunch time and the buffet had selections from both breakfast and lunch which the kids loved!

Not sure, but I think the Chip and Dale comment was that if they went to Storyteller those are the only characters the child would not- not that those were the characters they are looking for.

We decided against the Chip & Dale character meal since neither of our boys would know any of the characters. We decided on Lilo & Stitch for a breakfast meal our first morning there, and Goofy's Kitchen for DSnearly2's birthday dinner. I can't remember who else may attend Lilo & Stitch, but DS5 would at least remember L&S from the movie. And DS1 is surprising me with the Disney commercials running now! He excitedly talks about "Ma Moushe" (Mickey Mouse) and Pooh every time he sees them, so I think he will have fun with the characters and attractions during our stay.

Still, I need to push more Disney movies into our evenings to introduce DS1 and refresh DS5 on more Disney characters... We leave in 25 days!

I think you will enjoy Lilo and Stitch. We did this breakfast in March and loved it. The character interaction was great and we saw Lilo, Stitch, Daisy Duck, and Pluto. The food was also good. We also did Goofy's. The food was great. You have to try the fruit tamales. The character interaction was not the greatest. They sat us at a table near the door where the charcters enter and leave. My DS 7 loves characters and he would watch the characters come in and out that door without coming by our table. We were there about an hour to an hour and fifteen mins. and we saw some of the characters, but Goofy never made it by. I think it would have been better if our DS did not know they were in the restaurant. Just a side note, Pluto is at the entrance for autographs and picture taking.

Lilo and Stitch was the better (by far!) of the two we did on our trip ealry this month. Chip and Dale was a bit dissapointing. The food was good, but not the interaction.

I've done all three character breakfasts and my favorites are Lilo & Stich and then Goofys....actually I like to go to Goofy's for lunch!

I would vote for Lilo and Stitch breakfast. We have done both Storytellers and Lilo and Stitch and felt the character interaction was much better at L&S. The tables are further apart and more room for the characters to get around and kids to get up and move around with the characters.

Characters while we were at L&S: Lilo, Stitch, Minnie and Pluto
Characters while we were at Storytellers: Chip, Dale, Meeko & Koda

Also the food is good at both and you can order of the menu, if you don't want to do the buffet. L&S has the most excellent coconut&pineapple scones and banana smoothies at the buffet. Yummy
