We (me, DH, DD11 & DD8) currently have reservations at GF GV at an AP rate for 8 nights in mid-June. But, the more I read these boards, the more confused I become. I'm considering changing our ressie to either Poly GV or AKL deluxe Savannah. What would you do, and why? Transportation is not really an issue since we usually have a rental car and prefer to drive rather than take Disney transportation (although I think it would be really cool to stay at a monorail hotel!) A split stay is not an option -- I would hate to have to unpack and repack twice during our vacation. What's most important is probably the size of the room and the feel of the resort -- some place where we can really enjoy hanging out when we're not at the parks (the pool is a big factor). We loved WL and BC (especially WL because of the theming and "small hotel" feel to it). Thanks in advance -- I know wherever we stay we'll have a wonderful time because we'll be at WDW! :flower:

I would stick with your GF room. We just stayed at the CR and visited the other two monorail hotels. I found the GF much more appealing than the Poly. The Poly has great landscaping but the buildings are a little dark and done in orange and black. The Poly rooms are only slightly smaller than the GF rooms. I believe the AKL rooms are considerably smaller. At the GF you can take the monorail over to MK in just a few minutes. MK is the first stop from the GF, and you can take a boat on the way back so you don't have to stop at the other two monorail hotels and the TTC.

I would also keep your GF reservations. You are staying at one of the best and most beautiful resorts at Disney. AKL is very nice, but not on a level with GF or Poly.

Thanks for your responses! I have always wanted to stay at the GF, but just wasn't sure because of all the glowing reports from Poly and AKL. There are just too many wonderful resorts to choose from!

I would stay with GF as well. We stayed at AKL and felt it was a little out of the way compared to other resorts we had stayed in. We have little ones so it was somewhat more inconvenient to return for naps etc.

I too, would stay at the GF.

One consideration is that you may not be able to get the AP rates if you change resorts.
