I booked ASmo for the end of August. The cast will be me, DH, DD9, DS5 and DS 4 months. I never stayed at a value resort before and I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. I wanted to save money since we were originally not planning on vacationing this year because of the baby. I'm afraid we'll be squished with the added crib in the room. Should I spend almost $500 extra to stay in a moderate? Part of me wants to really splurge and stay at AKL :teeth:

We stayed at the ASM when my DS was 1 and had the crib. We also had our 3 year old with us. We did not feel cramped. Everybody is different though. We usually don't stay in the room during the day and just sleep there. If you think you will be spending more time in the room, than you may want to consider the moderate resorts. We have been to them all and they are all nice. Enjoy your trip when you go. :)

Rooms at the moderates are a tad larger, with better, IMO, amenities.

The values are small, moderates a little larger. We stayed at AKL 7/04 and LOVED the hotel, would highly recommend. If you stay at AKL get a savannah view room, you or you family will not be disappointed. I am sure no matter where you stay you will have a wonderful trip

With a family of 5 you might consider the Cabins at Ft. Wilderness. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunk beds. There is also a murphy bed in the living room. There is a full kitchen which is great for saving money and when you have young children is a blessing.
