So, my trip has been booked for the week of mothers day 2011.. (may 5th thru may 13th). For the past week I have spent ALOT of time reading through tons of threads regarding dining.
I had my heart set on spending my first mothers day doing exactly what I wanted which was to eat at Le Cellier.. However, I have NOT read anything good about it.. Has it changed that much?

So, now you all have me thinking that maybe I should change it up..
I have always wanted to eat at Il Mulino.. Comments on this? We have the dining plan and know that Il Mulino is not part of it..

I would like a really nice dinner that day.. So any other suggestions? I am planning on spending that day at Epcot..

We will be there the exact same time as you, we will be there from 5/5-5/14. I have been thinking about my Mother's Day meal as well. DH and I sat down yesterday and made a list of the different places we wanted to eat when we go, and any one of them would work as my Mother's Day meal (I'm not picky, I'd even go to a character meal :goodvibes). As for Le Cellier, you will never hear a bad comment about that restaurant from us. It is one of our favorite restaurants and is a must do each time we go. The only reason that I am not considering Le Cellier for my Mother's Day meal is because we are also celebrating both of my DD's b-days while there and my DD7 already put dibs on it :sad2:. Oh well, what can you do....good luck deciding.

Oh that is so exciting that we will be there the same time.:thumbsup2
My son will be 5 by the time we get there.. And since he has been born my Mother's Days have always been dictated by someone else (ie, MIL) so this Mother's Day I am looking forward to being with my hubby and my 2 boys and I guess I just want the day to be perfect.
We are celebrating ALOT while we are there.. My son like I said, will be 5.. My husband will be 40 and I will be turning 40 next year as well.. But, the real reason is that I recently went through some very serious health issues. I had 3 surgeries in 3 weeks and was diagnosed with Cancer.. However, I am cancer free now.. So, more than anything we want to celebrate being able to spend this time together!! and where else but the happiest place on earth..

If anyone else has suggestions I would LOVE them..

the interesting thing is that by that time Le Cellier is supposed to be a signature restaurant for dinner. There are reports of an upgraded menu. Demand will probably drop for dinner but lunch will be harder to get I imagine.

Le Cellier is good but maybe a bit overhyped in its current version. Who knows what it will be like for dinner after the change to signature. The complaints I have seen have been of the "too crowded" and "not up to the hype" nature.

Go and enjoy if that's what you want to do. I've been rereading the UG ratings on restaurants recently for out upcoming trip. I don't think there is a restaurant in WDW that has a rating higher than 91% thumbs up.

Thanks for the advice. I was actually planning for lunch. I was planning on it being my Mother's Day Dinner.. But, I usually like to take things slow on that day so that is why I was thinking around 2:00pm or 3:00pm. I was wondering do any of the WDW restaurants change their menu's for Mother's Day?

If you want to do Le Cellier...then do Le Cellier. Its your day as a Mom and you should not change just becauseof what you have read on the Disboards. You will get so many opinions here. And the only one that truly matters is your own opinion!!

Another option would be California Grill. We enjoyed it. It is a signature restuarant so it does take up two TS on the dining plan. Surprisingly, there were a lot of kids there when we were there. DS4 and DD6 are very well behaved so we did not mind taking them there. But I was a little shocked that some parents were allowing they kids to run around. Our kids really enjoyed going out on the terrace and watching the fireworks at MK. The food was pretty good (IMO opinion not the best...but, definitely not the worst...but that is my opnion...others love it there and it is a must do meal)

Since it is on the 14th floor of the Contemporary, you have nice views with big windows...it is just very open.

I hope you have a wonderful Mother's day!!

we will be there on Mothers day too..and have yet to decide where we want to eat....I could pick Le Cellier and be very happy and I would be happy at Earl of Sandwich.......I know I am crazy...Just being there is good enough for me.....We love Disney.
Hope we all have a great time

I'm in the same boat, trying to choose a Mother's Day meal! I want to do lunch rather than dinner, as we'll have 2-year-old DD & think she'll do better at a TS lunch.

Problem is, Mother's Day is our first full day at the World & we will be spending it in MK. Any recommendations for TS lunch in MK? Or at a nearby resort? We also have two vegetarians in our party so that pretty much rules out O'Hana.

so exciting to have know so many moms are going to be in Disney during Mother's Day.. for mother's day.. i would do somewhere like Crystal Palace? Its a buffet But I know that there is alot of choose from that isnt meat. Also, FYI.. you can call ahead to certain restaurants and request dietary needs.. Its one of the cool things about dining at Disney..
There really aren't too many places to choose from to sit and eat at MK.. What about trying the Grand Floridian (all of their dining is the most expensive at Disney) or you can do Contempory, California Grille or Chef Mickeys? I would suggest Liberty Tavern in MK but its basically a meat and potatos type place.. You need to make your ressies next week I think so you may want to look at the menus at MK..

Oh How exciting.. So it looks like you have ALOT of experience in planning.. I am not picky either.. But, this trip it is just hubby and my 5 year old and me so I don't want us to be too crazy with ressies.. I love Le Cellier and had my heart set on it for Mom's Day (my first one since i have been a mom where I get to do exactly what I want to do:woohoo:)

I have to make my ressies tomorrow.. Would you mind if you I Pm'ed you my itinerary to see if you think its good?

because of some of the ages of the kids that will be going with the previous posters....I would suggest going to the character buffets. Like Crystal Palace, or Chef Mickeys. If you think that the kids would be able to sit and wait for a meal to come out ......Le Cellier has some good options for the kids too.....We went with our grandkids and our neighbors too, and the neighbors son had the kids meal and added the kids steak for a few more dollars.....he loved it and enjoyed his meal as much as the adults did......I say go for it if your children would enjoy that type too.....I love anything and everything...
We have made one reservation so far and it was for Crystal Palace and now I am in the MOOD.......can hardly wait..

we all would love to see your itinerary.......so POST AWAY......or if you would feel more comfortable....please yes pm me...
