I am calling a week from today to make our ADR's for our August trip and we still need one more. We have Cape May, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Prime Time, Planet Hollywood(all with DDP) ,Ohana (OOP) and Kona (breakfast and OOP).

Out of these choices, which would you pick: Maya Grill, Yacht Club Galley, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Cap'n Jack's Restaurant, Boatwrights Dining Hall, Turf Club Bar and Grill, or Wolf Gang Puck Cafe? We will have a car so getting to any of them is not a problem.

I realize that some of you may prefer other restaurants at Disney, but I picked ones that are out of the parks (we are planning to only go to the park on a few days) and those that are 1 TS on the DDP. I also looked at the menus to see that there was something DS(14) would like. So, please if you could make suggestions based on these choices I would truly appreciate it. THANKS so much for any advice or opinions. I am having so much trouble deciding which one I should pick. :confused3

Well, I've only eaten at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe and we really enjoyed it, so I guess that's my vote :thumbsup2

I can't compare all of your choices because we haven't eaten at all of them, but I can tell you that even though Captn Jacks gets a bad rap some times we ate there and really enjoyed it. We were on the DDP and it was WELL worth the credit it took. It was one of the better meals we had. Lobster included on the DDP is a fantastic value. If you don't care for seafood you might be better off somewhere else...but I am a seafood lover and since I live in Kansas I jump at any chance I can to get lobster. The service in this restaurant was one of the very best we had at any of the restaurants we ate at. I'm sure you can't make a bad choice, but rest assured, Captn Jacks would be a good choice if you love seafood.

Wow, thanks for such quick replies. I have heard great things about Wolf Gang Puck and am considering it. Would you say the cafe is worth it on the DDP, though? It is very casual inside?

Karla, we all like seafood and DS does like lobster so I was also seriously thinking about Capn Jack, but yes I did read a lot of negative reviews recently. But, it is good to hear you had a good experience there. Thanks again, anyone else? I love to hear different opinions and hopefully soon I will pick one. ;)

WPC is casual but not extremely so ... not like a CS place at all. We were there twice within a week, and both servers were friendly, efficient, and helpful.

We enjoyed both Maya Grill and Wolfgang Puck Cafe in December. We looked at the menus for Cap'n Jack's and Boatwrights, but decided we didn't like the choices at either. The kids' menu at Cap'n Jack's was particularly bad for kids who eat adult-type foods. And yes, we were viewing the menus outside the restaurants, not the unofficial ones posted online.

Maya Grill had great steaks and sides; we really liked everything about it, except that my DH didn't love the desserts. WPC had a wider selection (less meat-intensive), including great crabcakes and quesadilla (apps) and fantastic desserts. The steak was not as good as the one at Maya. I can't choose, but it depends on what you like. :)

Thanks Poohfan. Your post was quite helpful. I will def. look at the menus for Maya Grill and Wolf Gang Puck again. I like what I see with WPC but since we are going to Planet Hollywood and will be at DTD one night already, I am wondering if I should lean toward Maya or one of the others. I am keeping Planet Hollywood despite some negative reviews because I think DH and DS will like the atmosphere there.

Thanks again. Anyone else?

Just bumpimg because I would like to hear more opinions if anyone else has some. I think we are leaning toward Maya Grill in Coronado Springs. Anyone been there recently? We have never been to any on my list (first post) except Yacht Club Galley for breakfast only so I would love to hear from others with personal experience.

THANKS so much everyone!!:)

disgirl,

I'm going in August, too for the first time. I like Cape May, Prime Time, Maya Grill (staying @ CSR. Doing a dinner & a breakfast here.), Cap'n Jack's Restaurant (twin lobster tails), and Boatwrights Dining Hall (looking forward to the jambalaya.) :thumbsup2

Take a look at Raglan Road. They have great fish and chips. If you can try to get ADR's for later. We were there at 5 and missed the irish dancers which we were told happen around 9

Thanks for the latest replies. I think we have decided on Maya Grill finally.
Disneynut71: Raglan Road does look interesting and I think DH and I would like it (he loves fish and Chips), but I do not really see anything DS(kind of picky) would like. Maybe some day we will get to try it. Thanks Rantybaby: It sounds like you have some nice ADRs there. I am glad to hear another person doing Maya Grill. I figure we will go there straight from Blizzard Beach since it is so close. :)
