Please Help Me Choose a Dress!

With an ever so slight tweek of the straps, I too vote for dress number 1. 2 is nice too, but not as pretty in the back as #1. Like the purple sash too, but all around, one is the one! Congratulations. Dress shopping is one thing I will probably never do, I am jealous! All the best.

I vote number 1 as well. I really love that colour as well.

You might find you like it even more with a bolero, I wore one in the evening and love how it looks with my dress in photos.

Like many others, I think that number 1 is the best. I like this one best for a few reasons - it goes with the belle look you want, it is a lovely dress, it looks really good on you, and your expression in it is priceless (it seems like you are happiest in it). That being said, I also really like the last dress you posted. I hope that you love whichever dress you choose!

I don't usually post on this board, but I love to lurk. :goodvibes

You look absolutely stunning dress #1 -- so elegant and flattering to your figure.

#5 would be my second choice.

Love dress #1 on you! It really flatters your figure. The ivory color also looks great.

In the long run, the best dress is the one YOU like best and feel most comfortable in :)

The third one (?) without the purple sash! You totally look like a princess in it!

Tomorrow my Maid of Honor and I are going dress shopping. I have narrowed down the candidates, and would love some honest opinions. The wedding will be taking place the week before Christmas at a Catholic Church in Missouri. We do not have a reception location yet, but we are leaning toward a historic mansion or hotel ballroom. We had initially discussed a Disney Wedding, but travel was going to be too hard for the families, but I do plan on incorporating some of that kind of theming. Due to the restrictions of the church, I will need to have some kind of cover up for the ceremony itself.

Here is my first choice. I used to tell all my friends that I was giong to be married in a replica of Belle's dress. It's not the exact same, but it has that kind of feel to it. I love the lace up back because it reminds me of the things I wear when I do Renaissance Festivals- it also means fewer alterations. I have a problem with zippers since I am rather short and the zippers don't hit me right on the back. I really love everything about this dress. As a bonus, that size fits me so I can buy it in the sample sale as long as I am okay with gold.

This is another dress from the same shop. Same idea, but much simpler. Obviously I would need to go up a couple of sizes. I like the simplicity and the subtle glitter of the beading, but I'm not as crazy about it as I am the first dress. It's hard to see the beading in the pictures.

The last dresses are from David's Bridal.

My parents really love this one and I do too. The one issue is that it has been discontinued, so I would have to find one at another shop in my size as the shop in Independence does not have my size. I'll probably put some kind of colored sash with it, but I'm not for sure.

I like the simplicity and higher neckline on this one. Once again, there may or may not be a colored sash paired with it.

I really like the softness and detail on this one:

The last one I do not have a picture in. It looked nice on I thought, and it has sleeves which would elminate the need for a cover up. I'm just not sure about the style.

I can't display the photo here, but here is the pic of it on David's Bridal website. It looks a lot prettier on the model because she is not short and fat, but I thought it still looked nice when I tried it.

David's Bridal

We decided to go with the lace on from David's Bridal. It was about $300 less than the first one, and the first one, I found out later, the bridal shop does not have a good reputation. My coordinator said you really have to stay on top of them and the last wedding they did with that shop, every single tux was the wrong size. If I had more time, I might be willing to chance it, but that makes me nervous. So dress number 3 it is, which I really love that dress too, and that was the one my parents were gunning for.

Congrats! Nice idea as well! I like the 4th dress the best. It looks the most elegant, and I think it fits into the whole summer wedding theme more than the other dresses. Follow your heart as to which wedding dress you know is the perfect one. :)

I know you have already decided and I agree with you. I liked the first one but if there is problems with the bridal salon definately stay away from that one. My other favorite was the one you went with. I tried this one on at Davids Bridal also and loved it. I had really wanted a dress with some color in it (I went for an all white dress but sometimes still regret the no color). If I had gone with that one I would have worn a white sash during the ceremony and changed out to a red sash during the reception. Can't wait to read more of your planning.
