please help me cheer up the kids

Just uprooted my kids and moved to FL. Yea I know it sounds like a dream come true but it is so hard on them leaving their friends behind. I've been so swamped with trying to get settled and registered for school that I really don't have time to do much research on a place to stay. I am taking them to Typhoon Lagoon Saturday for 1 night. I'd like to stay in the DTD area or nearby TL. We will have a car. Please help me find a deal on a good place to stay. I have an AP, military discount and now FL resident.
Where should I book a night? Can be off property. Ideas appreciated for this weary mom and dad

Have you checked out the military hotel, Shades of Green? My DD and her army DH really enjoy it.

Yes and for a longer stay it is worth every penny. But with parking it runs us $150/night hoping to do this overnighter cheaper??

I am a big fan of the Lake Buena Vista area and you can get some good deals there. It's close to DTD, as a single female I have always felt safe, the hotels have free parking...

I just put this coming Saturday inte Expedia and found.. (no discounts so you might do better going to the hotel websites and looking around especially for miltary or Florida resident...)

Best Western DTD $79
Clarion (used to be the Comfort, not outstanding but not horrid) $49
Fairfield Inn in the Marriott Village $79. (Free breakfast nice hotel)

Fairfield Inn! This looks like what I am needing. Clean, free parking, free breakfast. For an overnight trip this looks worth a shot.

I have stayed there several times and it's always been good. Have a good trip!

(There's also a food court with a Pizza and Sandwich place. Not dirt cheap but not outragous. Plus you get a fridge so you can bring supplies since you are driving! )
