Please help me avoid getting the hopper? I need to re-do a couple of things... I've asked this before and did get some help, but not specific to this particular problem. I have 7 days in the parks... and don't want to get hoppers just for one stinking day. Problem is that the one day that we don't want to be in MK - that's when I got CRT! So, we planned on hopping out of MK after that to Studios for the day. Looking at our plan makes me cringe because we'll be hopping just the one time and there goes our "water park day" money!

I can't, just CAN'T give up CRT for my DD's sakes, but I don't know what else to do... anyone?? Are Saturdays really that bad at the MK and if not, should I consider eating at Crystal Palace that night (9/24) & catching Spectro that night and just being at MK two days in a row and putting Studios on the Monday instead??

9/22 arrive
9/23 MK - because we HAVE to go to MK on our first day, plus it's EMH
9/24 MK for CRT then hop to studios??
9/25 AK day
9/26 MK day so that we can eat with POOH and watch Spectro
9/27 FREE DAY (hang out at OKW) & then Hoop De Doo
9/28 Epcot
9/29 FREE Day (Water park if we can avoid hoppers)
9/30 HOME

I went to MK on a Saturday in June because surprisingly the Unofficial Guide said Saturday was a good day to go. It really was great. The crowds were very manageable.

The more I think about it... the more I'm going to try and get Crystal Palace for that Saturday and just stay at MK that day! Wish me luck - that's the dinner I promised my DS4!

i'd just make sure and go to Fantasyland earlyin the day...that's where the majority of the afternoon congestion is componded by stollers sitting all over. think it's the way it's set up more than the total amount of people in the park .& maybe bypass it later in the day rather than cutting through it.

myself, if you are talking about missing spectro i wouldn't... it's great!

This past January and again this past May I was at Mk on Saturday and had no problem riding everything I wanted. Just get there at opening, do the 'must ride' stuff first, and grab fast passes. I'm sure your little ones will have no problem with you doing MK two days in a row.

As far as CRT what time is your ADR? We'll be eating at CRT 9/24 at 9:35am. It's our last day and we wanted to finish it with eating with the Princesses in the Castle.

Just go to MK 2 days in a row and squeeze all you want to do in those 2 days. We've been to Disney tons of times, and rarely used the park hopping option, and that is when we were AP holders and it was included. Just plan around what works for you. Also have heard of some people walking up to Cinderellas castle and being able to get in. RARE of course, but possible. I know we personally have done Crystal palace for breakfast and lunch multiple times and just walked up and only had about a15-20 min wait. So maybe you'd have a couple of character meals in one day, but everyone would be happy, you wouldn't have to pay to hop, and your days could go as you planned. We always do MK on our first day, and often on our last as well :goodvibes

MK first day has always been our tradition,as well as always taking the Ferry boat across.I know you don't really want to get the Hopper just for one day but what do you intend doing on your AK day? There is no way we could stay in there all day! We usually stay until after the parade then hop across to Ep & catch the bits that we couldn't fit in on our Ep day.

I'm confused - you say you have 7 days in the parks but I only see 5 park days listed. Do you have 5 day or 7 day tickets? If you have 5 day passes I would do exactly as you said with Studios on the Monday. If you have a package with 7 park day passes included - you could do the breakfast and then your waterpark and then do the studios on one of the days you now have for a waterpark.

We went to MK on a saturday, the end of August....NO PROBLEM!!!

We didn't have things as planned as many people do. We semi-planned as we have a ds12 and we let him be the guide to what parks he wanted to do which days, when we got there.

Hope that helps....

What's the price difference between the two? I thought if you wanted to do a water park it paid to have the magic plus?? Am I wrong

No I think you are probably right. Sometimes it may depend on who you get your tickets from but the price difference especially if you want to do more than one water park day more than pays for itself. I looked up prices for one of the ticket sales places other than Disney and found that the following apply for adult tickets that expire 14 days after first use=prices include tax
5 day 6 day

MYW no extras 198 201
MYW w PH 228 231
MYW w 3 extras 238 4 extras 241
no PH
MYW w everything 273 276
I think the water parks are in the $35 + range these days so even if you only use 2 of the 3 you save - they are good for the water parks, disney quest and pleasure island.

I haven't compared them to Disney prices as I always order from a ticket broker except for annual passes.

Based on this the cost of 5 park days and the water park would be at least the cost of the MYW 5 day ticket with everything and then two days admission to the water parks or 1 day at water park and some time at Disney Quest

There are definitely many ways to look at how the passes will work to the best advantage.

Subscribing to the Mousesavers newsletter can offer even more ideas and discounts. I will not list the prices here as that is one of the requirements for getting the newsletter.

Good luck in your planning and hope you have a great trip.

Ok - I've been gone all day...sorry. I did get Crystal Palace for that Saturday, so now we're at MK two days in a row but no biggie. We have 7 days passes... but playing the two ?? days by ear, maybe we'll go to a park on one of those days instead, you know. The price diff between 5 days and 7 days was literally like $10 for all of our tickets total, so I just went for the 7 days. I think that since we'll only go to a water park once and definitely won't do disney quest... the plus was not cost effective for us (am I wrong?).

Also, I do plan on spending all day at AK... it's the one park we're really really looking forward to. Besides that, it happens to be the same day we're going from POP to OKW, and we'll be excited to get into our "new" resort and check it out, etc. IF we get there and are looking for something else to do, we'll take the boat from OKW to DTD. Oh - and our CRT ADr's are for 8:10 AM on the 24th... looks like we'll miss you - have fun!

Did I cover everything??

Thanks to all of your ideas.

Hi moopdog,

I don't think you'll have any problems in the MK on a Saturday. We've studied the wait times at all the MK's attractions throughout 2005, and Saturday is the third-lowest day of the week for wait times. Armed with a touring plan, you should be fine, especially if you're spreading the MK visit over two days.

Also, I'd avoid the AK on its EMH morning day. Too many people, not enough rides.

Hope this helps!

Len

Uh - oh ... am I going to AK on the EMH day? If so, it's an accident! Or are you just warning me not to ever do that because it's "that" bad?!
