DH and I plan to surprise my little bro (12) and sis (14) with a WDW vaca. in mid Dec. 2005. I know that this is far away, but they have NEVER been to WDW and have always wanted to go. They are technically my "half" siblings (I HATE that term), and our mom and their dad have never thought about taking them; they couldn't afford it anyway. We just wanted to make one of their wishes come true. It will be a surprise for them, and I plan on telling them on my bro's birthday in May 2005.

We have never stayed at a WDW-owned resort or the Swan/ Dolphin, and I want to know what y'all think about BC, BCV studio, or the Swan. We don't wnat to spend a fortune on the hotel, but we do want it to be magical and a good value for the money.

TIA!

I have not stayed in any of the resorts you have as choices. But I do have an opinion about it....so here goes. Obviously you want to stay in the Epcot area for location.

Since you are taking to young teens, I would suggest staying in the BC Standard room (request a room with a daybed). Here is why--

They'll love the pool area of BC.
I wouldn't do a BCV studio because it is one queen bed and a pull out sofa. Not too many teens want to share a sofa bed.

How nice of you to take your siblings! Of your 3 choices, I chose BC standard room. The kids will love the pool. I have stayed at BWV-studio and I found it rather small for just 2 adults and the pull out couch wasn't as comfortable as a bed-the kitchenette area takes up too much room. I think you'ld be much better off with 2 queen beds and a daybed in a standard room.

If you don't want to spend a fortune have you considered a moderate?

Thanks for your responses. Also, thanks for the info on the studio:eek: --I had no idea. Now I don't even want that as an option.
We didn't consider a mod. resort. We really want to stay in the Epcot area because it so convenient to get to the theme parks from here. If there is a nice mod. resort that is near the Epcot area that has convenient transportation and can comfortably accomodate 4 people, I think we might consider it. Please feel free to give suggestions!:wave2:

I voted for the BCV. But with your sibs I'd stay i a one bedroom. This will give you some privacy, as well as a full kitchen. With teens, it will help to offset the cost to eat in the room. You can rent points form a vacation club member and stay even cheaper.

I chose BC standard! Having stayed there a few years ago, I know your siblings will love both Stormalong Bay and Beaches and Cream!
