Please help...Legoland/San Diego/Transportation

We are staying at the Hyatt on Mission Bay for our upcoming vacation. Not knowing the area very well, I am having a hard time making decisions as far as transportation. We are going to Seaworld, which is only a couple of minutes away. We are also going to Legoland which is 35 minutes away. Parking at the hotel is $18 a day, rental cost + gas I am not sure if it is going to be better to rent a car, or trying to find other ways to get to these places.

Thoughts, ideas? Please
