Please help ipod touch problem

I can not get applications I purchased to show up on my ipod. When my itunes page is open for my ipod it does not have the applications tap on top only summary, music, movies, tv shows, podcast, photos and info in that order. It shows it on the left side but not in my ipod summary. How do I get my ipod to have an applications tab? I have an 8G ipod touch. I have looked thru all the help guides with no luck.

You need to upgrade your Touch, unless you bought the newest to come out. It costs $10.

Yea, I just figured that out. Man that sucks. luckly I didn't purchase anything yet. Just downloaded the free stuff to check it out. they should put some more warnings out about that before you get stuck with it. I'm not spending 10 dollars. i'll wait untill it is old enough to be free later. Thanks!

I wonder if it will ever be free. It comes standard on the new versions. I would be surprised if it ever offered free, but I could be wrong. It was worth it to pay. For one, I didn't pay for my Touch, so it's easier for me to spend a little on the applications. Two, there are some really fun applications, so it was worth it to download.
