Hi.........
I would like any recomendations for a CREDIT card size camera.....
We don't want to carry a large camera......I want one I can slip in my shirt pocket....
I know NOTHING about cameras.......does any have or can reccomend a credit card size camera...........
There is a lot of them out there, and we are not sure who's is the best?
THANKS!!!!

Sony is the only one with good enough credit-card sized camera. However, because I put importance inpicture quality, I would recommend credit-carfd sized camera to anyone... not even my greatest enemy.

I just checked out a Sony T7 and I liked it a lot. On line reviews are mixed but I was happy with my older Sony.

I understand the need for a pocket sized camera. While I love my Canon S2IS, I'm certainly not going to be lugging that thing around during a night out on the town with my friends.

The others I'm looking at are the Canon SD line, Nikon Coolpix P1 and 7600. I really want cheap as the S2IS is my main camera.

I have a Sony W7. It is not a credit card size camera but is relatively small. Those ones don't have view finders and I can't imagine not having a view finder. It is small enough to fit in my pocket and I've been pretty happy with it.

My DH just bought a Casio Exilim EX-S500 and so far he likes it. I'm not real big on small cameras and I would be afraid I would drop it. I like a strap around my neck, but he will do fine with this one. It even shoots amazingly good video! He could tell you lots more about it, since I haven't really played with it, but you might check it out! It's really small!

Take a look at this one. It comes out in March and is a 10x zoom.

That could give the Canon s3 a serious run for its money. A smaller, pocketable 10x with image stabilization and iso that can be pushed beyond 800...for a list price of $349. Granted, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the Canon (and image quality is still a question mark). But still... :scratchin That's damn impressive.

We have a Canon Sd450 that we like for a compact camera. The SD550 has a few more megapixels if you want.

PC mag ran an article a few months back on what they call 'shirt pocket shooters'. The top for they had listed then were the Canon PowerShot SD500, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T7, Casio Exilim EX-S500, and the Fujifilm Finepix Z1. When it goes small I have always been a Canon fan, but the Casio has a really good wow factor on just how tiny and cool looking it is. Any of these (or their newer replacements would work well in this capacity. Plus I believe they will also do limited video as well.

The camera that is giving the Canon s3 a run for it's money is the Panasonic FZ30

I'm waiting to see the reviews on the new one. I like the idea of a small camera with a 10x zoom.

I think the new FZ7 is a closer competitor to the Canon S-line...and cheaper. From what I've seen of the FZ5, its predecessor, it's also lighter (which some people don't like...).

I'm curious to take a squint at the S3. The 2" swivel LCD is nice for a number of reasons (not least of which is protection!)

I have the Sony DSC- T1...It was really the first credit card sized digital camera. I bought it last March and am still facinated by the picture quality that this little camera takes. It's so easy because it slips into my pocket of my jeans.

You could be right. I haven't seen the FZ7. What I like about the FZ30 is the RAW format, hot shoe, manual focus and manual zoom.

I'll take a look at the review on the FZ7.

Check out the new Sony DSC-T9 and DSC0W70 announced this week at PMA...with high ISO and image stabilization. Super slim and cute - I want the W70!

True, but it is small for a 10x.

I wish I had the money to buy any of the above. My camera is so old....How old is it?....... I have to go into a closet to change the film!! :teeth: :teeth: Can you believe that??

I have a Pentax Optio 5si (it fits in an altoid tin), which I love. It takes great pictures, and I take it everywhere. I can't believe it took me so long to get a digital camera.

I was going to buy a Canon, but I kept reading about the E18 error, so I went for Pentax.
