Please Help-Changes from Custom to Intimate

Hi Everone

We were going to have a custom wedding but we think a few people may be dropping out of the wedding party , therefore i would like a back up plan for an intimate wedding just in case.

We will still be having the WP but our reception will have to change as it is currently booked for the American Rotunda.

Can anyone please suggest a nice place to have lunch after the ceremony where i can still wear my dress and would be suitable for about children as well as adults.

Our dessert party at epcot is also going to have to change we thought about hiring the Grand 1 yacht to view the fireworks. Does anyone know if you can have a mini dessert party on the boat?

To top the evening off we were thinking of going to Victoria's & Albert's for dinner with our adult guests. We will be paying for babysitters for the children before the cruise. As anyone been to V&A? Whats it like?

we have just booked intimate wedding through virgin. You can only have maximum of 13 guest plus yourselves if you go for an intimate wedding. We are hoping to book a table for our guests at contemporary to coincide with the fireworks! Have read good reviews but we haven't been to disney this will be our first time. From what we have been reading there seems to be so much to choose from.

We are having an intimate lunch at Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian following our 10:00 am ceremony at the wedding pavillion. There is a $1000 minimum to have lunch there. The problem that we had is not many places are open for lunch if you want a nice meal. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions let me know.

Hi Nicci,
I was in the same position as you. We wanted to have a custom, but when we sat down and figured out how many guests would actually be attending, we figured it was best to do an intimate. We did not skip anything else we wanted to do though. We still had the weding pavilion, the coach, etc..

We had our ceremony at the WP. Had our cake and champagne reception at the Commanders Terrace at the GF, (which was great because it was almost like a mini cocktail hour for our guests), and then we had our dinner at the GF as well. Later that evening our Party continued at the Boardwalk and we danced the night away at Atlantic Dance Hall. Going to Atlantic Dance Hall was a Blast! I think we had a better time there then we would have had we had a custom wedding with our small group and had a DJ. I really think having a DJ with our small group would have been a waste of money, (for us anyway).

Give us some more information as what time your ceremony will be and how many guests you are expecting. I know Disney says 13 guests for an intimate, but there are certainly ways to get around that. PM if you have anymore questions about how we handled our day or any questions in general..

I know the feeling bluedisneygill i also have never been to disney, theres lots of pictures and info on custom weddings but not so much on Intimate weddings, i feel like im planning blind lol

Hi Jamie Narcoossee sounds great but will it be ok for the kids? We have 7 of the lil monkeys that are just full of beans ranging from 2-10, not all mine i might add just the 2yr old.

Merandab4 its great to know i can still have the coach for an intimate, when i 1st thought i was going to have to change from a custom i was a lil disappointed , but now im just soo excited about replanning. Our wedding is at 1pm at the WP and we will be having 12 guests and 7 children.

Just to let you know, If you still WANT to do the intimate, I would talk to your EM because sometimes they will not count your Children as wedding guests depending on there age.

Although we had an intimate, we certainly would have met the minumum budget to have a Custom. But if we would have had a custom wedding, we would have gone OVER that budget and I wouldn't have been okay with that. I like the fact that with the intimate wedding, the photography, flowers, cake, music..etc was all included. This way I knew I had enough money in the budget to add the coach and the Major Domo. Had we had the custom wedding we wouldn't have been able to get all that in and be at the price that we wanted to be at.

Just something to consider. Do you have a budget in mind?
