I have never done this before and am so afraid I'm going to screw it up!!!

I have solid color shirts -- blue, green, purple...

I have light transfer paper.

In reading the FAQ just now, it says if you use light transfer paper, everything white will show up the background color of your shirt, because white doesn't print. Does that mean that WITHIN the image, white things won't show up white?? Clouds? Eyes? EVERYTHING white like that is going to end up BLUE or PURPLE?? What a mess!!!!!!!! Is there ANYTHING I can do other than going out and buying dark transfer paper instead??? I hate to do that because my images aren't square and I can't cut around all the zigs and zags, so it's going to leave a big white area around the image and won't look as nice, I don't think. :(

Advice from those of you who've done this before??

Thanks!

I'm no professional (lots of others have made more shirts than me!!) but I think by reading your post you do have the wrong paper. A shirt that's any color really needs dark transfer paper. Yes, you'll have to cut all around the design the paper that doesn't have a design on it---if not you will have a white mark on the paper, but it'll look soooooooooooooo much better if you use dark transfer paper. I really don't think light transfer paper will hold up well at all on the color shirts you described.
I even use dark transfer paper on white shirts, really looks better.
