PLEASE HELP - Already have ressie, calling in 2 days for 7 months and borrowing?

Hi.

We own 420 SSR Points, September Use Year.

We will be in Disney from September 20-28, 2014.
I currently have a two bedroom booked for our stay at SSR (our home resort).

I would like to get a 2 bedroom any view for Grand Floridian. This would mean that I need to release my points for SSR to use to book for GF and also think I need to borrow a few from next year.

I guess I would like to do this online instead of calling in since I can be online at 8 am, is this correct? If that is correct, should I just release my 2 bedroom now at SSR so it is easier for me to book online?

I will be booking 8 nights. Can I do this online and also borrow a few points from next year online?

I also see there is availability for what I want starting Setember 18 (if my 7 month window is today) and wonder if I should walk to get exactly what I want.

Can anyone please help me regarding my points and booking? Thanks so much!

If you are right at the 7 month mark, you can only book 7 days. Personally, I do not forsee SSR being completely booked for that time period so far in advance. I would not have a problem canceling my SSR reservation and going on line to book the GF. However, if you try to walk the reservation, only MS can get rid of days on an existing reservation, so that would mean waiting until 9 to finalize what you want. I would wait until I could book the first 7 nights and hope for the best.

Thank you. So, you think it would be best for me to cancel my SSR (I, too, not worried about it being available) reservation and then book my GF trip online? IF I end up doing this, do my points immediately go back to my account or do I need to wait a day or two? Also, if I need to borrow points to finish my transaction, can I do that online too?
So, I cannot book more than 7 nights with MS or online? I have to call and add a day? I understand about calling MS to "fix" my reservation that I walk but I could still book online and then call back to modify, is that correct?
Walking isn't really my question though, it is everything else LOL
I appreciate all the help you can give me. Also, what time can I do my ressies online?

Don't forget you can buy 24 extra(0ne time use) points once every use year. Good luck.

You can borrow points online while making an online reservation.

I've never done an online cancel, just over the phone, where those points are immediately available. I would probably cancel via phone the night before. Then, first thing in the am, book GFV (so you don't have to waste time cancelling)

Well, looking ahead the 2 bedroom lockoff was not fully available for the week coming up so I panicked and booked the 2 bedroom standard view from September 18-25 (my real dates are September 20-28).

Now I will have to call MS each day to walk for two days but I think that was worth it to me and glad with standard view since I don't have to borrow any points even when I add on my 8th night.

Can I please ask another question? If I want to book when I am able for 2015, can I book using my 2015 points if I want August and it is a September UY?
Don't think so and double checking. Is it correct if I want to use my September 2015 U/Y points, I have to book a trip after August 31 OR can I book an
August 2015 trip and use borrow my 2015 points?

With a September UY your points 2015 calander is 9/1/15 - 8/31/16
If you want to book an August 2015 only (no sept overlap) trip, you could use any combination of banked 2013 points, 2014 points, and borrowed 2015 points.

The August trip is somewhat risky for a Sept UY because any late cancellation is use it or lose it by the end of August. (Might be a good time to get the trip insurance)

Your points UY doesn't impact when you call to book. You just need to be 11 or 7 months out from the check in date.
