Hi! I just found this site and I really could use some help from experts! I used to live in Florida and my DH and I are huge Disney fans. We've been there numerous times and are well-versed in the parks and the resorts. However, I do not know a lot about ways to get the best rates on the resorts. In the past, we've booked packages or just paid the room rates. We are planning a trip in late March/early April and would like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge or the Polynesian. I tried to read different posts on this board and know that a lot of you are discussing rates for annual passholders. Could you explain more about those, please? How do you find these rates? Would it be worth it for me to buy the annual passes? On the home page of this site, I found a rate to the WL for $189 during the times that I would be going. Should I just go with that? Any help you all can offer would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

It would be WELL worth getting an AP...AP rates are about the same as a Florida resident rate.
I am getting the WL for 109..that is $90 off the rack rate that I was quoted before the AP rates came out...

I am not sure about when you are going...I think that is PRIME season

Do you still have your Florida Drivers License..(I kid!!)

DisneyDmbNut, She asked about "a trip in late March/early April". The AP rate for that time period (Peak Season) is $179.00 for a standard at WL.

If you really want to stay at WL, I say go ahead and make your resies now. Then a few weeks from now (not sure when but watch this board) the AP and discount rates will come out. Don't buy an annual pass yet however. Let me explain our situation and it may help........

I've had resies at POR for 02/20 - 02/25 since June 2002 at their regular rate. Over time I have been making payments towards my resie and have purchased one by one our park hoppers from the local Disney store. A few week ago the discounts came out!!

There were two types of discounts, an AP passholder discount and a room only discount.

If I chose to have the AP discount applied to my existing resie I would have saved $350. I could have gotten one of my hoppers (all it takes is one) upgraded to an annual pass when we arrived at WDW. However It would have cost apx. $158 to upgrade. Bringing my net savings down to $200.

The room only code saved me a straight $300 off my rate and now I don't have to upgrade my pass.

They applied the discount code to my existing resie!!

Keep watching this board. Also, Mousesavers.com will announce any codes as they come out.

Thanks for all of your help! I think I'll probably just book the $189 rate, but I may end up looking into the annual passes. As I said, we are going in late March/early April, but we may also be going back in December. That might make the annual passes worth it.

No doubt!

Have a wonderful WL stay!:sunny:

and stick around here!

Hi!
The second trip later in the year would definitely make an AP worth it!
Be aware that "early" April begins getting you very close to Easter Break and all of us who make our mass migration to the world at that time!
Sounds like you are on the right track!!
Have a great trip!
