Could someone pleae tell me what are s'mores and pot stickers? I see them on WDW menus but we don't have them in the UK.
Thx :flower:

Hi Confused Brit,

I'm a confused American but can tell you what pot stickers and s'mores are.

S'mores are wonderful and very bad for you. It's a warm oozy melted marshmallow with a piece of chocolate bar in between two grahm crackers. They are sooo good.

Pot stickers are cooked marinated chicken pieces on a stick like you would find at a Chinese resteraunt.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thx Tina, that's great.
The s'mores sound good, sadly I have noticed that many wonderful things have a tendency to be bad for me :rotfl2: What are Graham crackers please? I don't thiink we have those either :flower:
Thx Again,
Linda

We had the S'mores at 50's Prime Time - large graham cracker spread with choc spread I think! then topped with warm oozy marshmallows....lots of them and choc sauce drizzled over the top.

Very big serving and we shared it between 4!

Just found the recipe HERE told you there's a lot of marshmallows :goodvibes

Now really, how bad can S'mores actually be? Think about it...
Chocolate has been proven to be good for your (I'm sure I read it somewhere, something to do with endorphins or mood-enhancement or something);
Graham is a whole grain and whole grains are good for you;
And marshmallow comes from the root of the marsh mallow plant - and root vegetables are good for you.
Now, all that good-for-you stuff obviously negates the bad-for-you sugar, so S'mores are a health food :cool2:
On the other hand, pot-stickers, to the best of my knowledge, are Asian dumplings.

Linda,

Sorry about the pot sticker answer. I really think that it depends on the place you are eating at. People call pot stickers something different.

Anyways, grahm crackers are a golden color with a bit of sweet taste. Has a bit of honey I believe. Grahm crackers are given to babies to mouth on since they just dissolve. Lots of pies are served with a crumbled grahm cracker crust like no bake cheese cake. All I can think to describe them is the keebler elveswho make cookies :rotfl: I hope that this helped.

I like your reasoning, but remember the op already said they're a confused brit!

We couldn't find graham crackers in Ireland, so we used (digestive?)biscuits, but I don't remember which kind were best. The woman who owned the place we stayed at had never heard of s'mores either and was quite intrigued with them. lol

Pot stickers are very yummy, too. These are two of my favorite foods. :goodvibes

The best time to eat s'mores is just after you get back from a long snipe hunt!!!

Here's a s'more (the square one on the top)

And here's a picture of a box of graham crackers, if that helps!

Pot Stickers are dumplings filled with vegetables, bean thread noodles, tofu, meat or seafood (sometimes a combination) similar to wontons/dim sum, but the difference is that pot stickers are usually (but not always) browned in a little bit of oil and not moved while cooking so they stick to the pot (thus the name) and get a little bit of a crunchy crust to them. Love them!

'Smores are exactly what the other posters said. Their name comes from "I want s'more (some more) please!" (or so the story goes.) They are good though!

Here is a photo of a real s'more! Hershey chocolate and fire roasted marshmallow!!

And here's some pot stickers. I've never had them but I think they are pretty much like egg rolls. Ground meat and cabbage with some other junk fried in a wonton wrapper.

Ok. Now you've done it. All this talk of potstickers and now I have to go get some!

Yum!

I think that potstickers are boiled first, then browned, because they have a softer consistancy than eggrolls. This thread is making me hungry. :confused3

Yes, they are boiled. You don't have to get them fried but I like them better that way!

Lulu's right about the pot stickers. They're basically a type of won ton pepared in a different way. A lot of asian countries have their own varied versions of won tons called by different names. Pot stickers are browned in oil first then steamed in the same frying pan by adding a few teaspoons of water to the pan and covering for a min or two. So you get crunchy and flavorful browned bottoms and soft steamed tops. Won tons prepared this way are also called gyoza in Japanese restaurants and mandoo in Korean ones.

I love food!

Chereya :)

Pot sickers are like the dumplings you get at chinese take-away.

Graham crackers taste a bit like digestives, but they are crispier and have a bit of a honey taste.
