please Help! 2017 Panama Canal or Transatlantic?????

We have going round and round for days.. So here we are for some advice!
Hubby and I are having a hard time trying to pick between these too.
2017 WB Panama Or the EB transatlantic that leaves a week later..

We will be traveling with with our 2 girls ages 10 and 5
So family of 4 (2A 2K)

TRANS -
We like the ports slightly more attractive to us. (However that means more $$)
we have been on the magic 2 recently April2015 and will be on the magic again in OCT 2016
Not sure how bad air fare runs coming home from Copenhagen.

PC-
We have not been on the wonder since 2012
Wonder is getting a massive refurb
Would be able to spend 2-3 at WDW before hand..
My Sister went in the EB PC 2016 and I'll admit I'm jelly!

Sounds like you've answered your question. Choose the Panama Canal cruise ! That's the one we chose. It's not often we get to Disneyland !

I assume you mean the west-bound Panama Canal cruise if you're doing WDW before the cruise and it's the week before the east-bound trans Atlantic.

Whatever direction you're headed, it's fun to do WDW at one end of the cruise and DLR at the other. The Canal locks are fascinating and supposedly (hopefully) the Wonder will cruise through the new set of locks -- might even make your sister jealous.

We were on the wbpc and had a wonderful time. Going through the locks was such an interesting experience and I would highly recommend that anyone do it at least once. We loved the longer itinerary because it gave us a chance to really get to know other passengers and we came away with new friends. Of course, you would get that on a Transatlantic cruise as well. The biggest drawback for me is the seven sea days in a row on the Transatlantic itinerary. I do pretty well wearing a patch to control seasickness, but I am afraid seven days would be pushing it.

I vote EBTA. Ports are way better. There is nothing interesting about the PC cruise except the day you pass through the canal. The EBTA is less money. Airfare might be more, but it's probably a wash. Norwegian and Iceland air usually have pretty good fares.
Doesn't the EBTA leave out PC if you can spend a couple day at WDW before the PC why couldn't you do it before the TA?

It more has to do with the amount of time my husband can take from his job.. April he can have the 2-3 extra days.. But in May it's 2 weeks max!

We are booked on the WBPC The group is really great! I just priced it out for us what it would cost and it seems like it is about $8-1400 each to get back to the US from Copenhagen and the cruise itself would save us about 700 total (we have 2 inside rooms, 2A3K) and be 1 night longer. Overall, it will cost us more as the port excursions are more expensive. Also, the WBPC leaves on Apr 23 in 2017 and the EBTA leaves 3 weeks later on May 13, so it's not a week later if that matters.

I did consider switching while reading this thread but I think the WBPC is going to be cheaper over all Plus, like I mentioned, the cruise meet group is amazing for this cruise! You should join us! Oh, and there are a lot of kids your kids' ages! My kids will be almost 9, 6 and 4 when we sail.

well, please don't fly in Sat for TA. Did you read about the family that missed it this year? Luckily they could catch it in Boston. But, next year, it is 6 seas days after departing. We love Europe, so are thinking of the TA. I agree that the lower cost of the cruise woud likely be a wash for the higher airfare. Plus, no extra WDW costs, which could be $1K for 2 days of tickets + hotel. One consideration also might be if you wanted to visit Calif.

If you want to do Disneyland, (I actually prefer it, I grew up at WDW and love Disneyland to pieces) I can totally give you pointers on how to do it cheaply. We just had a year of APs to Disneyland

I vote for WBPC because we are on this cruise with our two kids 6 and 13!!! Either one would be awesome. The PC cruise was on our bucket list and ended up being less expensive due to airfare from/to the West Coast. You really cannot go wrong with either choice - enjoy!

I've done the TA and a PC cruise but opposite directions of what you're planning. In this particular instance I would do the PC cruise. We did the eastbound PC, and from what I hear the westbound is better. It sounds like the timing is better for you with the PC also. But still, you should do a TA at some point.when you do the TA you should try to do it westbound.

Going WB you gain 6 hour instead of loose 6 hours. And when living in the USA WB leaves you closer to homr.
We preferred the 2017 EB as it will include DCL's maiden call at Amsterdam (close to our home town).
EB can provide WDW in advance and gets you to Copenhagen. WB is Barcelona to New York, so no WDW and only 11 nights.

We cruised this year's WBPC and loved it! Would sail EBPC on Augus in a haertbeat if time and money were not a restriction. We will let you know next year which we loved more: TA or PC.

It's difficult to price the airfare from Copenhagen because it is too far out to get pricing in May, and you don't say where home is for you, but I priced Copenhagen to LAX the other day using dates in March and got pricing of approx $241.00 per on Norwegian Airlines - I was surprised by that price.

Norwegian air is super cheap if you buy in advance. I dont have to buy airfare, but I priced it out and was really suprised . Iceland air is another one that can have really low fares. I considered the ebta, but changed to the wbta.
