This dining thing has me throughly confused. We've already made most of our ADRs but we still have 2 credits left. If you wouldn't mind helping me out, I'd appreciate it.
It's our first trip to WDW, we'll be there 2/11/06-2/18/06, it's me, dh and ds4.
Here's our plans:

Saturday (arrive around 4): dinner at Whispering Canyon (we're staying at WL)

Sunday: MGM day, no ADRs this day but I was considering going to the Pepper Market for lunch or dinner (counter service)

Monday: Magic Kingdom day, dinner at Crystal Palace

Tuesday: off day, DTD, resort, etc. Dinner for dh and I at Shula's (can't talk dh out of this one) ds will go to the Dolphin Kids Club

Wednesday: AK day, dinner at Chef Mickey's

Thursday: Epcot, dinner at Coral Reef

Friday: back to which ever park we like best, breakfast at Ohana's, possibly go to the campfire/movie at FW that night

Saturday: our flight leaves at noon, so probably no time for a sit down meal.

What am I forgetting? I don't really want to go to breakfast at the castle b/c I doubt ds would enjoy it (princesses are for girls :confused3 ).

Sounds good. Do you plan to see Fantasmic? If so, you could do a Fantasmic dinner pkg at Mama Melrose or H&V(our choice), both 1 TS credit or Hollywood Brown Derby (which is 2 TS credits). If not..... Sci-Fi would be neat with the kids (Or without kids)

I was thinking of going to Coral Reef as well until I started reading the reviews on it here. We changed from Coral reef to Le Cellier (we love that place). Have read some rather unpleasant reviews of Coral Reef Although now it's a 1 TS credit instead of 2.

Have a great trip!! :wizard:

I think you did the right thing. I'm not sure you could pay me to go to the Coral Reef. I think the food is overpriced and fair at best. The atmosphere is great, no doubt. But, we just go to the Living Seas now and skip the restaurant. Le Cellier is a much better alternative IMHO.

The reason I picked Coral Reef is b/c it went down to 1 credit and I figure that ds will enjoy watching the fish during dinner. Ds doesn't eat alot at dinner time so if there's something there to keep him occupied dh and I can at least somewhat enjoy our meal. If we were paying OOP it might be different.

I think it looks good - just remember that they are your choices and what one person thinks will be different to another! I hope you have a good time! :flower:

we went to 1900 park fare for breakfast the last day if you made a rlly early breakfast then you could probably sdo it.

I had a really nice meal at Coral Reef. I think I had swordfish with creole sauce. It was enjoyable to try something new and you are right, the view of the fish is really neat. However, I talked this restaurant up to my relatives and they were disappointed in the food. However, they may have been expecting some fried fish. We're going to try LeCellier this time. Haven't been there yet.

Hi! I've heard really bad things about Chef Mickey's. Would you consider going to Boma instead at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on your AK day? It's amazing and so different and fun. Just hop on a bus from the AK and then back-- AK is really only a half-day anyway. You could get there at opening, make ADRs for 5 pm or so, and spend an hour before your ressie relaxing at the animal kingdom lodge?

Also, if you're going to eat in the MK, I recommend the Liberty Tree Tavern over Crystal Palace. It is just so charming and the character interaction at dinner is supposed to be excellent.

...and just a quick plug for Mama Melrose in MGM-- it is one of my favorite restaurants in WDW. I was shocked at how adorable and yummy is was. This is a must for future trips now.

Have fun on your trip!

Great choices. For your extra two table service meals I would pick a lunch at Epcot (the day you have Coral Reef for dinner) Marrakesh in morrocco has great food, and never has a wait for a table so you won't have 2 long meals in 1 day. It is filling but light so you'll still be hungry for dinner. And the bellydancer and musicians are fun.

Also I think you would love the sci fi at MGM. It is the most "Disney" of all themed restaurants IMO. I like the lunch food- great milkshakes! And with the show schedules determing touring at MGM you may want to stay there rather than taking a bus to CS and back.

Have a great trip!

I too think your DS would like Sci Fi. My DS(4) loved it when I took him there in Aug. He had his first milk shake there and the rest of the trip kept asking for a drink you can't get through the straw. I took a special trip with just him. When we all went to WDW in Oct he asked to eat there again. This time my DD(2) really LOVED eating in the cars and the really corny movies.

I also love CP for any meal.

I always make a reservation for breakfast on our departure day and end up not going so I can make a last mad dash to the parks or need to finish packing. I've never done the dining plan but I wouldn't want to "save" TS credits for a meal on the last morning.

 Hello...I would try Sci-Fi on your MGM day. It's alot of fun and truly is a one of a kind restaurant.
Maybe it's just me but I had fun planing our ADRs...hopefully you are too :sunny:

Maybe try to get ADR for Sci -Fi dine in your 2nd day there. Guarentee you son will like it.Everything else sounds good :umbrella: :wizard:

Just wanted to reassure you about Shula's. I couldn't talk DH out of this either and it ended up being both of our favorites all week! You do know that they don't have a children's menu (I assumer to discourage children) but do offer 2 hours of free childcare (must book too though I think)... Have fun!
