Lisa was a reg. poster on here. One who is an inspiration to many of us old timers. I think of her often, especially these past few months when I haven't felt as comfortable here as I once did. We had fun swapping together. I still have some of her pieces that I haven't used or have used and just remember who made them. (one of the joys of swapping it does at least for me make me smile from time to time! All the encouragement I got that I could make something Someone would want).
I think that we all need to step back, thank our lucky stars, God or what ever you believe in that we can come to a board and post and make some great friends.
The DIS has always been supportive and is one reason why I haven't truly left.
I know when a dear friend of my mine was dying and I needed help to create a scrap book for her so many people stepped up to help me, support me and give me ideas and even sent me completed pages the only thing that had to be done was put the pictures on the page. That still amazes me even now.

I don't post as much as I once did. But I felt I needed to step back.
Then I came across Dan's post on the CB and it made me think of so many people I have come in contact with and most were from this board. Luckily the friends I made I have kept in contact with outside this board.
Things change, people change and ideas change. But I should hope the care and concern wouldn't.
After reading this board today I just felt I needed to link people to Dan's post. Those are things in life that really matter. It doesn't matter about the fireworks, or even why things happen. what matters are the friends you have, the people who you love and care for.

Thanks for the thoughts & the link Spinning! I do think we all need to be reminded from time to time of what's important in life. I know there have been many people here who have offered me words of encouragement & support in a number of situations. Of course I feel closer to those people than people I haven't interacted with. Sadly, some of those people no longer post here - for whatever reason - and I miss them. But the group that's here can be kind and compassionate too.

Thank you for the update on Lisa. When I first joined the Dis I found this forum shortly after, and Lisa was one of the regular posters at that time. Spinning I think you have touched upon what is truly important, and we should all remember what that is .

That was such a touching story--it gave me goosebumps! I was not a regular poster here when tigerfan was, but my thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. Friends and family really are the best part of life!

I have just recently become a regular poster here over the past few months, but I have felt very welcome. Thank you to everyone for being so open and friendly! :teeth:

Thanks for linking, Sondra, and your thoughts, on Lisa, on everything.'s

Well Said Sondra - Its amazing what we all take for granted in our lives until its not there any longer. I know this also from coming very close to loosing one of the most important people in mine and my DD life.

Sending my best wishes for Lisa and her amazing daughter.

Sondra, thank you for sharing the link to Dan's thread. Continued thoughts & prayers to Lisa & her family ... Emily's comments are amazing - from the mouths of babes ...

Sending lots of continued prayers to Lisa and her Emily. She would always pm me when I was on Chemo from the Monster. She always gave me such inspiration during that time. Lisa we all miss you. God Bless

Excellent post, Sondra! I also miss Lisa and she was a great contributor to the DIS! My continued thoughts and prayers for her and her family...

That was very touching. I am glad that you shared it with us. :grouphug:

Thank you so much for the link update on tigerfan. It really makes you stop and think about what is important. In spite of all that she has been through, I still feel her positive attitude. I think that has a lot to do with getting throught the toughest of times.

Her daughters words are precious.

Jeanne

Thanks for the link to the update Sondra. It really makes you appreciate the people in this community, who have always been so welcoming and friendly. I remember Lisa when I first began posting and it's people like her that make this more than a message board.
