These are showing up more and more in the States and I would really like to know what they are and what they taste like.

Thanks! :mickeybar

According to Worldwidechocolates.com, "Created in the 1930s, the Flake bar is a unique bar made of strands of crumbly milk chocolate."

I had one once when my best friend went to England and brought me one home. However, I was about 12, so I just remember it was GOOD.

They are made of milk chocolate but as Cyndiu has mentioned they are made up of many strands and are VERY crumbly. They are very useful to crumble up and decorate cakes and desserts and are often pushed whole into soft ice cream cones to make a "99". (Just recently I've noticed a praline flavoured one for sale.)

There is now also a dipped flake available so it's just crumbly on the inside. Although having lots of strands left at the bottom of the wrapper is half the fun for me!

I remember dipped flakes from when I was about 6 (1968!!!) as I asked the lady at the sweet shop "What are they dipped in?"

Flakes are my fav choccie. Taste even better if yu have them in the freezer for a little while :flower:

Now I must admit the crumbles annoy me a bit - but I love the Snowflakes which are dipped in white chocolate

I got a Flake easter egg too...yummy...They taste lovely:)

Cadburys used to advertise flake on the TV using a rather gorgeous young lady to eat it.

Never did understand why!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Went something like

''only the flakiest crumbliest chocolate tastes like chocolate never tasted before''

or words similiar!

My favourite is the Snow Flake. Crumbly strands of white chocolate dipped in milk chocolate. I have sent these and a few other bars of Cadburys chocolate to my friends in the USA before (they send me Oreos in return!!)

Ohhhhhhh!!! Now I have to try one. They do sound good! I'm off to the store tomorrow to buy one.

In my opinion Cadbury's chocolate is the BEST in the world. :cool1:

As a shop keeper I sell LOTS of Flakes, praline flakes, Snowflakes and dipped flakes.

best of all, no one has mentioned the new BOXES of assorted mini flakes.
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:
