Please explain the manual transfer process to me

How hard is it to make sure the points transferred to my account retain their home status for the 11 month reservation window? If I had say BWV or BCV points transferred in, what is the process to make sure they retain their home resort status instead of becoming OKW points?

At the time of the transfer, make sure MS understands your intention to use those points at 11 months at that resort. When you go to make the reservation, they will still probably need to manually manage the points for you, but again remind them about the reason you had the points transferred and they will be able to make the reservation you want. It may take a couple of days for them to accomplish the manual reservation using those points, but you should be fine.

Just have them notate what you want at each step and then check back to make sure they followed up for you.
