Girard is in NE Ohio near Youngstown. 1 hour from Pittsburgh and 1 hour from Cleveland.

Kelli,

I really don't think that you were sitting with DVC'ers on purpose. We went on a cruise three years ago, we are DVC'ers, and the topic never came up with our dinner partners. Never.

DVC'ers are proud and happy with DVC. Unless things have changed, no one does more than boast how they enjoy the program.

Disney is very low-pressure on DVC anyway (our experience). We did not need to make a decision immediately, and many options were discussed. We CHOSE to buy and add on points, and no one bugged us (tho we get an occassional call or post card from our rep).

It's a hard task to choose dinner partners. I would think it was pure coincidence that you got seated with so many from DVC. Ultimately, you made your decision anyway.

Frankly, we were very pleased to add on points. We had extra $$ at the time, and with the bank rates and stocks the way they were/are, this was a nice investment for us. We can now upgrade to better rooms and cruises and enjoy the Grand Floridian on points (next year) where we would never spend the $$.

Just my 2 cents...

The DVC subject came up, I'm SURE, innocently.....its not that I think these people go from cruise to cruise harrassing people to sign up.... ;-) .....actually.....No, these folks were great, and I'd sit with them again in a heartbeat!

And, yes, we did make a decision based on US, not anyone else, and so far, we're happy with it. Now, if they'd come up with a DCL DVC........Keith better hang onto his wallet.....do you think its just a matter of time? That would be awesome!!!!

Sorry, Nick! It says it right there if you've got your eyes on! I just can't read some days!!! ;-)

Kelli

is missing the DVC special cruise 2 years ago. Two days at CC.

Kelli - Glad there was no pressure. Yes, we get something if we refer people, but we would never push anyone into this decision!

We're not interested in the DVC Saratoga Springs event, but some folks are. No matter when the next DVC cruise is tho, we're on it!

A lot of DVCer cruise. When we rebooked on board they asked us if we were DVC and the booking agent said that every cruise has lots of DVC members on it - so it could have been coincidence. Then again, they do know who is a DVC member and who isn't.

(Florida just changed timeshare law to allow cruise ships to be sold as timeshares - I wonder who might have lobbied for such a law?)

In general Disney tries to schedule your rotation based on party makeup. People with smaller children start in AP, older kids in PC, and traveling alone or with older teens, Tritons. But it doesn't always work that way. We were seated with another couple and their children who were about the same ages - I suspect that wasn't chance.

Another thing to keep in mind regarding dining is that your DD may elect to eat with the clubs - particularly if fun things are happening over your dinner hour. Another thing you can do is ask your waitstaff to work her courses quicker, than take her to the clubs between entree and dinner. Dinner often lasts two hours - more than some little kids handle well.
