It's my understanding that when making a ressie thru DVC you can use points for some nights (Sun-Thurs ?) and cash for others (Fri/Sat?). Since weekends are more points I think this would make sense and I'm thinking of doing this next Spring. But before I call DVC I want to have a better understanding of this. More detail - I'll be looking to book a 2 br villa for 6 nights around Easter.

Here are my questions --
Are the points nights and cash nights considered to be the same ressie and if not, is there any chance I'd have to change rooms?

Do I need to pay for all the cash nights when I make the ressie or just do a one night deposit?

When booking thru DVC is there ever any discount for the cash amounts? (any times of the year, not just peak/holiday)

Is there any limit to the number of nights (within one stay) that can be booked w/cash vs. points?

Thank you to all the experienced DVC-ers out there for any answers you can give me!! :wave2:

If you book the cash nights through MS, it will appear as one continuous reservation - you will not have to change rooms.

Believe you just need to give MS a credit card to hold the reservation. You pay when you check out.

The member cash discount is 25% - but it is not always available.

Cash nights booked through MS are not always available. It is very possible that they will not be available for the weekend nights near Easter as that is a peak time for DVC members to vacation at WDW.

You're welcome.

Best wishes -

I called MS today because I wanted to see if the cash rate was available for a studio at BWV for Friday night, 12/15/06. It was available, but I was told that it would be a preferred view, and since I was booked from the 16th on in a standard view studio, we would be moving. Right now, we have Pop, for under $90 and I was wondering how much the cash rate would be, because we thought it could be worth it if we didn't have to move. Well, the rate was something like $220 + 11.5% tax, and so we're staying put.

We have been trying real hard to not rent a car for one of our visits, just use ME. The "problem" has been these moves, (I know that some here don't think it bothersome) and I do like to go to church on Sundays, but I figure the cab rate would be reasonable. Oh well, it looks like we'll have a car again.

Bobbi :)
