I just rechecked the rental car rates and changed my ressie from Alamo to National, saving over $60! We have a intermediate rental for 10 days @ $207.74 total! I have never used Emerald Aisle before. DH is concerned that we'll get lost, or do something "wrong". Is it really as easy to get a car as I've read on these boards?

i was nervous my first time too :p

it IS as easy as it sounds.

get your luggage, go downstairs, walk across the street to the garage, there are signs for the national lot. find the emerald aisle, pick a car, get in and drive to the exit.

hand the person in the booth your confirmation, license, credit card and any coupons.

drive off!!!

it's fantastic, you really get out of the airport quickly when using EA.

I suppose I'm being overly cautious, but you ARE a member of the Emerald Club, right? If not, shoot over to www.mousesavers.com and sign up for free (print out your membership card). As a member, you can walk out to the parking lot and pick any vehicle parked on the Emerald Aisle, regardless of size or class, even though you only reserved intermediate. You will be asked for your Emerald Club Card when you go thru the check-out booth at MCO, along with your license, reservation confirmation, and any coupons you have.

Yes, I am an Emerald Club member. We joined several years ago, but then always found better rates with Dollar. This year National had the best rate.

Bummer....I was looking forward to the upgrade. Oh well, we'll take whatever's available and just be happy to be on vacation in any car! The price was right.
