I have a Disney Visa, but have only used it once for a small purchase just to make sure it was activated. I applied for this card thinking that there would be WDW advantages or discounts like the AMEX White Glove, or similar. The ONLY credit card I use now is AMEX Sky Miles card, to get free airline tickets.
Can you please explain what the rewards are good for and how they are redeemed. Can't find details on the Bank One website.

Basically the Disney Visa gives you 1% back on your purchases. Not that much really. However, I use my card for everything. I use to write checks everywhere, and now I use my Disney Visa and only write one check to my credit card each month. I never carry a balance on my card. You then transfer your rewards dollars to a card and the rewards dollards can be spent at Disney, and I believe also anywhere that accepts the Disney visa. It works for me.

You get a $1 reward for every $100 spent up to a maximum of $750 awards dollars per year. You have your rewards dollars put on a Disney awards card that looks like a credit card and then can use that as a debit card when purchasing anything from Disney like at any of the stores or restaurants at WDW; i.e., each award dollar is just like a Disney dollar. You can also use your Disney Visa to purchase various discounted Disney vacation packages, dvd's, and other things. Far from being the best of programs but adequate.

I have one and love it. So far I have accumulated over $800 disney reward dollars. For every dollar you spend on your card, they give you 1% in disney dollars, i.e. spend $100 you get $1 disney dollar. Doesn't seem like much, but they do accumulate fast, especially when you put everything on your card like I do. (Don't worry though, I do pay off my balance every month on my credit card, so I'm not going into disney debt-hee hee). You can use your disney reward dollars for purchases at the disney store or for your hotel rooms or admission tickets at Disney. We are saving ours up for our next disney trip. You can call them or request online and redeem your dollars and use it like free cash. Very cool and a must have.

If you are going to get it for exclusive discounts, they have been few and far between lately. The card is now Chase instead of Bank One.

Nope. Only Disney locations accept the rewards.

My bill states that I have 27 Reward Dollars. Does that mean that I can get a debit card with $27 on it and use it at WDW for purchases?

The Bank One website isn't the easiest to navigate. Even though they've merged with Chase, you can still access it at bankone.com/disney. I just was there tonight - went to "your accounts," then "explore cardmember services," then "Disney dream reward dollars" will take you to all the info on how to get a rewards card.

I called Customer Service, and ordered my rewards card over the phone. It came in about two weeks. You then call them back when your rewards dollars have accumulated and have them loaded on your card . It is pretty easy. I found the phone numbers I needed on my monthly statement. Might use some of my Rewards Dollars this trip to buy Pal Mickey.

Becareful of the expiration date on the Rewards CARD. The rewards CARD has an expiration date on it and if there are still reward dollars on the cards they will expire. The way I understand it is the reward DOLLARS on your account have an expiration date that they must be transferred to the CARD by and then the reward CARD also has an expiration date not tied to the date of the DOLLARS. Someone correct me if I am wrong. This may also have changed with the Chase merger.

My card from last year expired 12/31/2004 so I made sure to use all my dollars on my trip to WDW in early December. I just yesterday ordered a new card with my accumulated dollars on it for my May trip.

It seems ridiculous that the card and the dollars have separate expiration dates! Yet another flaw with the program (still "0 offers for WDW" after HOW MANY months?!)

BUT, with that said, we put everything on the Disney Visa and pay it off every month, so I have $928 acumulated, with about 70 days to go. I'm getting the DDE card, so I hope to pay for all or almost all of our food on the trip with the Disney Visa dollars.

I have booked a pkg. thru AAA. So far I have paid the $200 required deposit. The balance is due 45 days before the trip. If I pay the balance on the Disney Visa, is 45 days enough time to have the reward dollars posted, and get the debit card? If not, when should I make the full final payment in order to get those precious rewards for our trip?

yes, that is plenty of time. Allow up to 3 wks to receive your card before your trip. Any rewards you accumalate after that can be put on the card.

You can use the reward dollars at any Disney properties or stores. I believe on line too.

One deal on the last bill was no interest on a Cruise or DL trip for a set amount of time. There was also a thing for something for DL free, not sure what.

I just got my Disney Visa in the mail....haven't had a first bill yet.... I read in my paperwork I rec'd with our cards that you can accumulate points for 60 months (5 yrs). When you transfer the points to the reward card, how long till the points expire on the reward card??

It depends - but usually 12/31 of the next year. I just got a new rewards card and it expires 12/31/06.

The problem with their so called deal on the no interest cruises is the way they apply your payments. If you continue to charge on the card - even if you pay your entire balance (except for the cruise) they apply your money partly to the cruise and partly to your balance - which ISN'T interest free. So the only way that is a "deal" is if you put your cruise on there and then quit using the card - which means you aren't earning any more rewards dollars!

Be careful about ordering your card too early and transferring reward dollars. I ordered mine and transferred about 3 weeks before our trip and then DH had to have his gallbladder out (of course they had to open him up.........), so no Disney trip. You do have at least a year before the reward card expires, but it's better to leave the reward dollars "untrasferred" until you know you will be able to use them.

Another idea is to order the card with the minimum number of reward dollars required and transfer right before you leave. Subsequent transfers happen immediately, so there's no waiting around. If for some reason you can't go to WDW, you could always order something from Disney Direct.

(we did of course manage to take our trip so we didn't lose any reward dollars, but it was a good lesson about how easy it would be to lose them.)

I do shudder when I realize how much we have charged to get $750 reward dollars - $75,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) YIKES!!! (I am not one of the ones who puts everything on it either......
