Hi! I am getting ready to book reservations at Fort Wilderness for next May and I've noticed a lot of talk on the forum about the changing of site classifications. Could somebody please explain it to me or point me to a thread where this has been discussed in detail?

We typically book a full hookup site, non-preferred in the 1100 loop because we like the location and it is less expensive than the preferred sites (it makes a difference over 10-14 nights ;) ).

Anyway, are there going to be any "standard" sites still available? I really like the 1100 loop for space, privacy and convenience. But I may have to reconsider if what I read is true. Anyway, thanks for the help!

All sites will have cable TV when done which will make them preferred. So no more standard full hook up. The 1100 loop will now cost the same as preferred, to my best understanding.

I heard 1900 will still be classified full hook up because the pads were so small. This however is a rumor still.

The "unofficial" official loop designations. (Nothing is confirmed until concrete starts pouring)
Preferred:
100
200
300
1600
1700
1800
1900

Premium
400
500
600
700
800
900
1000
1100
1200
1300
1400

Partial
1500
2000

All sites will have cable installed by the end of the year.

However, Jen has talked to some CMs at the Fort, so there may be something to the 1900 remaining full hookup.

Thanks! I guess that location (proximity to marina) in the campground has nothing to do with cost anymore.

I did call this afternoon to make a reservation for 15 nights in May...$1,586! Yikes!!! I'm hoping that the cost will drop SIGNIFICANTLY when the actual rates come out...if they do not we will have to reconsider. $105+ per night is just absolutely ridiculous for a campsite!

I've been to Disney probably a total of 12 times in my life and have always stayed at the fort, but for those prices I might consider one of the other resorts or (I can't believe I'm saying this :scared1:) stay off property.

Anyway, assuming that the prices do fall and I don't want to pay for a premium site in 1100, what loops does everyone suggest that will have spacious sites with privacy?

Thanks

Thanks! This is what I was looking for...BTW, where did you get the map of the country with states highlighted in your sig?
