We are fortunate enough to have been upgraded on the March 6 Magic from GTY11 to Room 1048, Category 9. I am so excited to have the double porthole and the split bath. But I have never heard anyone on this board talk about rooms on the deck 1. Has anyone ever stayed there? Should I be worried? It looks to me like it would be a good location but I am puzzled because no one has ever said anything about it. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Enjoy your upgrade! The split bath is great and to have a porthole will be nice!:)
EVERY cabin has the potential to be noisy. We were in a cat.5 that had a very angry family next door and although it was suppossedly a "quiet" cabin they were loud...
enjoy your upgrade and have a fanstatic cruise!

My older son was in cabin #1079 when he cruised a couple of years ago and he said it was very quiet. #1048 looks like a good location, you are between the forward elevators and the mid-ship elevators. Enjoy your cruise!! :sunny:

P.S. I think we don't see much about Deck 1 because there are relatively very few cabins on that deck.

we were on the first floor. Didnt hear a noise the whole time. and if it was rough seas its way better down low. I was up on the 7th deck during 20 foot waves. The whole ship was tilted on towards the higher decks. The bottom you couldnt eve tell.

Thank you so much for your imput. My mind is at ease.

Last February, we spent the first week of our back-to-back cruise on Deck 1 - Forward. Also had split bathroom/2portholes. It was very comfortable, very quiet, and we felt almost no motion of the ship all week. It was also very convenient, as it was very near to the exit gangways - which was handy for days in port. We upgraded the second week to deck 7 with verandah. That was lovely - but we didnt have a lot of time to sit out, as there was so much to do on board!

Hope to see some of you on 6th + 13th March cruises! Fingers crossed, we will also be sailing! Cant wait! Happy sailing:Pinkbounc Nat

Hi natdencro,
I saw where you might be on the March 6th cruise. Go to the "Cruise Meets" thread, and find the one titled "Looking for March 6th Magic Cruisers" or something like that. That's where you'll find some of us! Hope you get to join us.

Our friend's fav stateroom is 1040 - Deck one. It's quiet, very few staterooms on this deck, close to gangway exit.

Enjoy your upgrade!

Thank you for sharing your experience on Deck 1. It sounds perfect for us.

Also, when you finalize your plans, join us on the cruise meets board 3/6 Magic Eastern. We are planning a DIS meet on Sunday 3/7 between 12-1 for lunch. Do you have any children? Many of us have young children (many girls).

Have you ever posted a trip report? I seem to recall a trip report from someone in England, I remember him having a lot of fun on a train ride.

Hope to see you. Thanks again.
