Please don't think I'm a jerk but...

"I called her rude and a jerk and I AM disabled. Funny huh?? "

Actually, it isn't funny at all. In fact, it is actually pathetic. I would have thought that you would have been more aware of how unfair and cruel it is to label people. Oh well, do unto others .....

As pumpkinboy noted, WDW is one of the more accessible places to visit and people with disabilities tend to come back because it is accessible. (We are members of DVC at OKW for that reason).

I totally agree with this. I feel it is one of the few places my son completely fits in with everyone else.

as for all the different types of handicapped rooms, that information is based on what ive read and when i called for the ressie the CM told me the handicapped rooms at WL only have king beds.

She asked not to be thought of as a jerk in the subject. After reading her first post that is exactly what I thought she. I was just responded to what I read. It has nothing to do with labels but how people consider those with disabilities. I apologized in an earlier post for being a ***ch. I hadn't read ALL of the posts when I responded, just her OP. I hadn't read the "I really should have worded it better" posts yet.

I think there was nothing wrong with your questions. It was one of curiosity. Funny how the people who are outraged and called you jerk and rude don't seem to be disabled. Funny how only their opinion matters. It's PC'ers that have no soul.

Funny how you can't tell from reading posts what anybody's level/type of disability is, or whether a poster is disabled. What makes Turbo think those of us who are 'outraged' aren't disabled? If I'm not willing to reveal anything about my finances, including why I'm staying in a Value resort, why would I tell anybody whether/how I'm disabled?

I don't know, this doesn't seem that nosy too me. She didn't ask the balance in my checking account or my line of credit with my credit card company. :confused3

We have a DS 15 in a wheelchair and we tend to vacation at the deluxes. He has a very severe seizure disorder among other disabilites and we will almost always spend at least one day at the resorts if not more. Eveyday is not always possible for it to be a park day for us. I like having the option of room service if he isn't well enough to leave his bed and I like extra nice swimming pools with slides, etc on the grounds in case he rebounds in the afternoon and starts feeling more adventurous. I like a balcony to relax on if he is in and out of sleep during the day and after he falls asleep so we don't bother him. :grouphug: I also love it if we can score a balcony with a fireworks view then if he can't make it till the end of the day in the parks he still gets to see fireworks or the EWP.

And more than anything I like being able to use any other mode of transportation but the busses. I get so sick of hearing what other people think about DS and how long it is taking to load his chair. :sad2: My current favorites are the Epcot resorts because we can walk to both MGM and Epcot. :Pinkbounc

I think I understand what you were asking but stuff like this never bothers me. I like to share about DS's disabilities b/c it educates people about his life. :flower:

It seems to me that you guys are attacking the OP for asking a simple question. I don't see how he/she was attacking anyone as many of you are attacking him/her. They simply made an observation. People on the DIS tend to hide behind their computers so easily and attack someone. No wonder many people are too scared to ask a simple question for fear of being attacked and insulted. Geesh!! :sad2:
