Is it true that Disney Club members can NO LONGER get a discount on "room only" reservations? I thought I had read or heard somewhere that you can only get the Disney Club discounts on the packages!! I can't believe this if it is true!!
First the discounted passes are gone and now this!!

You can still get DC discounts on room only ressies -- but all DC room discounts are considered packages. They just call a room only ressie the "Basic plan". We got the DC discount for our trips in January and June. Just waiting for better codes to come along!

We booked a room only "package" with DC in March for our December trip. The "package" part was the addition of either admission to the Sports Complex or a round of miniature golf for each member of the party.
We called DC again in July when the CKO codes were announced and they took care of applying the code rate to our reservations.
DC again took care of us when the CBR announced its closure and transferred us to the CBR relocation team.
No problems.
I believe (and I could be wrong), that the initial DC discount is approximately 20% off rack rates.
You can have codes applied to your DC reservation whenever they are announced thus saving quite a bit more $$ over the standard DC discount.

I think the discounts for June run 10-15% since it's regular season. The amount of the discount depends on the time of year and the level of hotel you're staying at.
