Please, dont allow your young children to push strollers

Your comments show a shocking lack of knowledge and compassion.

It's absolutely none of your business why someone is using a mobility device or has a GAC. None. Zip. Nada. Zilch.

Your assumption that guests are using a mobility device because they are lazy shows me that you have been fortunate in life to never have needed to use one. For this you are blessed.

It's my hope that you continue to have the good health you have had in the past. Should you find yourself in the position of needing a mobility device, you will quickly learn that NOTHING is easier. Even moving through the park is more difficult. Bathrooms can be a nightmare. Restaurants can be tight. You get the idea....

I have a suggestion for you. To lessen your anger and teach you some compassion......I'd suggest that you rent an ECV or wheelchair for one day and force yourself to stay in it. My guess is that if you have even an ounce of compassion or honesty, you are going to see things in a new light and thank the deity of your choice that you have the option of not using said mobility device.

Also...get your GAC. Karma can teach a tough lesson.

THANK YOU:worship::flower3: from someone who has had to rely on a wheelchair during most of my visits to the Disney parks, and has also had to deal with the stares and the 'must be nice' snide remarks from those ignorant of the realities of having to depend on wheels to get around.

And to those who do abuse the use of ECVs and GACs: Karma can be a b*tch.
You'll see.

Get cancer and still try to live a normal life and than see how the GAC is misused only to get FOTL access. I needed a WC due to cancer and yes it was wonderful to never have to wait and go in front of all those other paying suckers :lmao:

We use a GAC (as rarely as possible, we find a good touring plan much more helpful) but you apparently haven't really used a GAC because it most certainly does not grant FOTL access. If, in fact, you have needed to use a w/c at WDW you would know about the mainstreamed lines and those that would require you to use a w/c entrance. Honestly, you seem to have some pretty significant issues, and with all due respect it might be worth talking to a professional.

I think that some people just seem to lose all consideration for others at WDW, especially at the end of the night when everyone is just trying to get out, I can understand the excitement and not realizing running over someones ankles, or walking right in front of a wheel chair. But you can get so much more out of WDW if you just slow down and enjoy your surroundings.

I think it is perfectly reasonable that people use ECVs at DW and DL who don't need them for everyday life. My preschoolers don't use strollers anywhere but DW and DL, either, but we might cover 10-20 miles in a day at a pretty steady and fast clip, and someone who can do regular walking can't necessarily handle THAT kind of walking.

And I think those are the ones who cause ECV trouble, the ones who don't use them all the time. Because they are trying to master the use of a new type of vehicle in the absolutely worst conditions to learn that skill. I think a short lesson with practice, required by the renters of these things, would go a long way.

If people are using an ECV, wheelchair, GAC, service dog etc., it's because they feel they need to, end of subject. Anyone who judges people who use these services are lower than low.

Children do not push strollers because they NEED to. It may be cute or somehow be deemed a learning experience by the parents, but shouldn't be done in a crowd. Same goes for letting your child push the buttons on an ATM when there's a huge line behind you. It's common courtesy. Think of other people, not just you and your family.

I know there are many perfect people lurking here, you certainly come to understand that over time, however every time I have ever been hit by a stroller its been an adult pushing it. Yes even us adults get a little side tracked and don't always pay attention. And why do these type of posts always turn into debates that inevitably lead to the "fat people shouldn't have an ECV/wheelchair, blah, blah, blah"? Its just so stupid. I'm so glad to see that everyone is such an expert on everyone else's life.

Well if my husband hadn't pull me aside I would have been shipped back to Europe in a coffin.

So no heating up but just telling the truth.
O and would you tell me please why I should give up me place after waiting an hour for the parade at MK for an ECV that just keeps hitting my behind because he/ she thinks they "deserves" a place upfront?
Again its all about ME, ME, ME. I'm in a EVC and you're just a second hand paying costumer.

Exaggerate much!

Well maybe you should look at the other Disney parks that use a prove of needing an ECV.
The percentage of EVC users is only 1 yes ONE % instead of the numerous percentages in the US. Being lazy and being obesed is not accept as being entitled to get a GAC.

Well as WDW does not ask questions about giving a GAC a might get one for me.
It would be great to get on the Big Movie Ride twice with a GAC.
The suckers like me wait hours for access while those whit a GAC get access twice on the same time.
How I know? A person whit a fake parrot on his shoulder ,using a GAC got access twice while we the dumb payers hat to wait.
As there are no questions asked I will be getting a GAC next time.:thumbsup2

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm gonna have to stop you RIGHT THERE. You have NO right to say this. You have NO idea why an overweight person may need an ECV. YOU need to SHUT your mouth and STOP replying to this thread NOW. I've sat back and read the updates for long enough, thinking you'd eventually just stop. But this statement is way over the top.

My mom has health issued that have caused her to be overweight. Those same health issues have caused her lungs to function below 50%. Walking for long distances is not an option for her. You NEED to stop judging NOW.

Try not to let that poster bother you. He/she is clearly a 15 year old kid. You can tell by the "just for shock value" statements coming out of their mouth. Hopefully the kid's mother will notice them writing this crap and ground them from their video games or whatever.;)

Again.... I'm sorry, but you still show an amazing lack of knowledge regarding this topic.

GAC is not a front of the line pass and many, many times someone using a GAC waits longer than someone in the standby line..

I'm going out on a limb and say that you've never used a GAC or a wheelchair. You simply don't have your facts straight.

Seems you might just be angry about some perceived injustice.

Thanks for the laugh. Unfortunatly, with follow up comments like this one (see below), I sadly have a feeling that this person is age-wise very much an adult yet selfish enough to not care about anyone else but themself.

Seriously? You're saying that you enjoyed the benefits of the GAC yet, you don't think anyone else deserves to use it. You can't see cancer. Did you wear a sign that said "I have cancer" so no one else would judge you? What if someone else didn't think you "looked" sick enough to use an ECV or GAC? Have some common decency and let others live their lives.:sad1:

It's so much fun to watch how misinformed you are! It's nearly adorable that you think the things you do... it certainly doesn't bother me! Wanna know why?

Because I'm fat. Not Pooh sized, fat. 'Too fat to live' I believe was said about me here once. And guess what? I've used an ECV at WDW. Also? I've used a GAC. So to you I am sure I just look like another fat lazy American on an ECV.

But I have a few secrets. Wanna hear them? They're awesome!

1. I have MS. If I am using an ECV it's because I gosh darn need it.
2. I dont know you. I will never know you. If I ever see you in the parks it will be for approximately 30 seconds. Then I will never see you again.

So in short... who cares what you think? :D

Have a magical day!

I also have issues with ECV's. They should not go the speeds they do. They are used with people walking, yet most drive them at high speeds. If they really are meant for people who can't walk, then they should only go at an average walking pace. I've seen people in ECV's mow down others and not even slow down as they think they have the right to go faster than everyone around them walking. This does NOT work in crowds at all, at least not safely.
Disney rentals don't go faster than the average person walks (except when used with a special key available only to CMs). That encompasses the vast majority of rentals you'll encounter any given day.

Many Guests who come into the parks with ECVs use their own. These, and the offsite rentals, can't be speed-regulated by anyone by their owners. Sure, you could start a nationwide campaign to limit ECV speeds - but remember, people use them for much more than just a week or two of theme park touring.

So the driver of an ECV is safe but those that he runs over has just to cope whit the injures an EVc can cause?
So no whiplash for those on an EVC but broken bones for the rest of us are perfectly acceptable. :lmao:

First, it's an ECV - an Electric Convenience Vehicle. E C V. If you're going to whine about it, at least label it correctly. Sheesh.

As for broken bones, well, I've run over my own foot with an ECV. it hurt, sure - but nothing broke. And where's your compassion? Do you want an already unhealthy person adding whiplash to existing conditions? Really? It's not like the ECV continues at full speed (generally under 2.5 mph) until it suddenly... stops! It moves a few more inches at a slower speed. Not unlike your motor vehicle - unless that stops the split millisecond you stop supplying fuel to the engine? No, I didn't think so :lmao:

Sorry, but ECV's do not go VERY slow. They go much, much faster than people walk.
See above. Some do. The majority of the one's in the parks - those rented by WDW - don't go faster than the average person walks.

Yes, I'm sure.

No the ECV don't go slow. In fact they are killing machines. I was almost killed by an EVC user leaving MK.
He drove full speed right to me and my husband just could pull me aside. The EVC driver hit the wall full speed. He was cursing me because I was " in his driving zone".
So please stop making excuses for EVC drivers.
Live and let live is something EVC drivers don't even think about. Its all about ME, ME, ME.
And leg issues?
Sure I got them to because I suffer of cancer but that does not mean because I'm slow an EVC has the right to run over me.
I have NO respect for EVC users.

So he's a boor. He doesn't represent the majority of wheelchair/ECV users by any means. You have no idea what, if any, physical damage would have occurred. A 9 mph or slower - and while you may not know how fast or slow he was going, i know with an outside rental he couldn't have been going any faster and with a WDW rental only a quarter - impact may have caused some injury, but it's unlikely you would be dead from it.

Getting back to the original topic ...

I agree with you 100% OP - people should use their common sense and not allow small children to push strollers around. Been clipped once that way myself - and caught a look from the parents (I assume for not moving out of the way) to boot!

You shouldn't, and if you did, well, you did. There are several viewing areas for guests in wheelchairs/ECVs along any parade route. Not your job do educate guests.
