Please describe 1900 Park Fare DINNER

Hi there!

I'm considering this place as a family dinner for the night before my wedding. I've never been here, but I thought the theming (a ball) it might be fun and the entertainment would be a stress breaker from how we are going to be feeling: a) the night before our wedding & b)dinner with the family

Lady Tremaine and the step sisters are my favorite characters at WDW and I've seen them put on a hilarious show during meet & greets. I know these girls will be funny and put on a good show for us. They will definately lighten the mood and put me in a relaxed Disney feeling.

I've heard the food is average here & none of us are too picky, so I think that will be fine. Any other comments from anyone on the food?

I know it's a character dinner, but do you think it is way too childish to do as a family dinner the night before our wedding? There will just be 8-10 of us. I guess I thought it would be ok, because IMHO, those stepsisters and Lady Tremaine really do use alot of adult humor.
Any thoughts? Will we be the only adults here?

We went in December. Here is my quick review:

We had a very long wait to be seated. Our ADR was at 6pm. When we were seated, the restaurant was VERY and I emphasize VERY crowded. Tables were close together and we were placed in a booth - the lady at the table next to me was so close to me - we were practically bumping elbows.

The lines for the buffet were long and confusing. The kids' buffet was fine. I went to get DD's plate -- when I returned, I learned that I had missed Cinderella. However, DD was still beaming from the visit - and her face was worth it.

The food, honestly - was the worst of our trip. DH and I each only made 1 trip to the buffet - due to the congestion and because we didn't want to miss the other characters. We ate about 1/2 of what was on our plates. This was fine with me as I really wasn't hungry in the first place.

Lady Tremaine & the stepsisters - made the experience. Because of their antics, I would gladly make another ADR for 1900 Park Faire just to see them again. I can honestly say that we have never laughed so hard at a meal -- we were literally crying. The character interaction made up for the quality of the food.

There were plenty of tables with adults only. The table next to us was 4 women. Around us, lots of couples. A really good mix of adults/kids.

In making your decision, I would consider the following factors (1) noise level - very very loud, (2) food quality - bad IMO, and (3) crowds -- very crowded.

I think you need to take everyone's personal opinion about the food, the restaurant, etc. with a grain of salt. Someone may hate it...others may love it.

We usually hit 1900PF during each trip, previously for the Prince, now for Lady Tremaine and Step Sisters. They were a hoot.

We were there in early December and had a 5:30pm ADR. We waited, maybe 10 minutes. I didn't find the lines long or confusing. Every dish I walked by was half full to full; I never walked by an empty place on the buffet. I think there is a lot of variety for those who want something a little more interesting, but also plenty of comfort type foods that people recognize from home.

Honestly, at WDW, food is food. I'm not expecting gourmet. But I have to say I've never had anything truly bad at 1900PF. There have been a few things that I tried that I just didn't like the flavor of, but I know that was personal taste, not lack of preparation on the restaurant's part.

As a family we enjoy it. I think it would be a hoot for a rehearsal dinner.

It is a character meal so it is popular. It's a busy place. But it sounds like peace and quiet isn't really what you are looking for anyway, so your group will probably have a good time.

We've done breakfast and dinner at 1900 Park Fare and enjoyed both meals immensely. Lady Tremayne and the stepsisters were truly hilarious. I made one of the sisters cry by telling her she would have more friends if she wasn't so mean, and Lady Tremayne made me apologize before she would let me finish eating my meal. The characters are great at interacting with guests.
We found the food to be delicious and plentiful, with a good variety to choose from. We do try to go either early or late to avoid peak crowds and that seems to help.
Give Park Fare a try - it's a very pretty room with good food and fun entertainment. Be sure and mention you're getting married and you'll probably get lots of extra attention.

The characters are Great at 1900 the Stepsisters are always so in character and the stepmother was just as entertaining..They have the best interaction on property....What a fun time to be had there....Again go the the Characters and not the food ..Good crowd though a mix of kids and adults.

We went this past March. We didn't wait too long for our table, but we did wait a long time for Cinderella to make her way over. As someone mentioned, the restaurant is crowded. The food was not great. The characters were very entertaining.

And we had decided not to go back for a while since the food wasn't worth it.

We loved it...best character interaction of our trip and the food was really good too!

I would definitely choose this as a fun family dinner!
