I made my FP+ at 4 am this morning :surfweb: and this will be our first trip using FP+. I'd appreciate any suggestions, or advice on timing. I'm not sure if I'm allowing myself enough time to get to ADR's in different parks or resorts. Quick background, it's DF and myself, no kids. We're staying at CSR, and it's our honeymoon in late August. The rides I have listed are our priorities. If we get to others that are unlisted, great, but they're not must-do's. I also know I don't have scheduled breaks, we have been to WDW in late August, and know how brutal the heat will be. If we get tired, we -will- take breaks. If we are not enjoying ourselves, we have no problem tossing our plans and taking a rest. Anywho, thank you in advance for any criticisms or suggestions!! :goodvibes

But, DF wants to do Kilamanjaro in the morning b/c he thinks we'll see more animal activity. I really want to experience EE at night, so that's where I want to use the FP for EE. I just kind of stuck Kali River in there somewhere. I didn't want to make the FP too close to dinner and be soaked while in the air conditioned restaurant. Any suggestions on changes?

I'd move your AK day all around - mostly because those trails get very hot as the day goes along.

Tue 8/23 AK
RD EE
Maharajah Jungle Trek
FP+ Kilimanjaro 10:15-11:15
Pangani Forest Exploration Trl
Lunch @ either Harambe or Pizzafari
FP+ Kali River 11:50-12:50
FOTLK -will need to check showtimes
Rafiki's Planet Watch
ADR Boma 6:15
FP+ EE 8:00-9:00

This plan will have you walking back and forth more than once though since you want to do EE & Safari early, but Kali later. You Could move Kali altogether though and look like this:

RD EE
Maharajah Jungle Trek
FP+ Kilimanjaro 10:15-11:15
Pangani Forest Exploration Trl
Lunch @ either Harambe or Pizzafari
FOTLK -will need to check showtimes
Rafiki's Planet Watch
Kali - FP+ 4-5pm
ADR Boma 6:15
FP+ EE 8:00-9:00

For your Disney Springs day - I'd consider making an ADR at Epcot instead of Raglan Road? Seems like a lot of back and forth to me.

Epcot day - I'd probably plan a different lunch ADR because of the walk between UK and Mexico/Norway, but otherwise it's fine.

What if you move your Rose and Crown Lunch to a dinner on the Disney springs day???

On your first MK day, I prob wouldn't waste prime early AM time on Monsters, Carosuel, etc... I would prob use a FP for SM and do it later in the day...using your early AM time for either other FL attractions or Adventure land & Frontier land attractions. You could sweep through all of them rather quickly. Then do SM in the afternoon with FP (maybe coupled with a Buzz FP if that interests you) and do the attractions in that area then...all of those will have min. waits.
Personally, I wouldn't schedule a Coral Reef dinner for EP if I was planning to go back to MK that eve. If no MK that night, I would prob still push back the Coral Reef adr to later. But that's just us. We would prob go for a MK resort dinner, possibly something in the park (just not Tony's) OR choose something close or in our resort, if we were aiming to take a mid day break. Just my thoughts...

I would re-work the DS day too...if you're going to go to a park, I would do it either first thing or last thing...too much back and forth for my taste. I would just do the FEA later in day (if possible) and stick around for dinner and Illuminations. Maybe put your Coral Reef ADR on that day...

Thank you!!

Thanks! I actually went in to see what I could move around for FP+ for AK, and they now offered FP for after 9 pm for Kali which is what I originally wanted, so I moved it till 9-10 pm. You're right about those trails getting hot mid-day, I didn't even think about that!

Thank you, I will look at my MK morning. I think we're going to see how tired we are after dinner at Coral Reef to decide whether or not to head back to MK for fireworks. I considered making my ADR later in the evening, but was worried about feeling rushed to get back to MK for the fireworks if we do want to go back. Unfortunately, DF doesn't like any of the TS restaurants in MK. (I was open to try BOG, but he didn't like the menu). And LOL about Tony's!!

@kayteekt If Raglan Road and Frontera Cocina are both must-do's for us, how would you work it? Maybe an early lunch and dinner in DS, then do Epcot at night?

Hmmm...if they were both must do's. I would prob do FEA in the morning, then head over to DS. Eat lunch first shop and mull around and then do dinner before leaving OR since you do have a good length trip I might would just do DS another evening maybe even arrival evening. We like to go to DS to get us in the mood for Disney on our arrival day. You could def do it according to your original plan, just a lot of back and forth for me personally. But if you don't mind it, go for it :)

Is this better for our DS day:

11:00 Lunch Frontera Cocina
Shop, maybe check out closeby resorts
5:00 Dinner Raglan Road
FP+ Frozen 8-9 (there's also a 7:30-8:30, not sure if we'll be rushing dinner though)

Yea, I would probably go for a monorail resort meal, if I wanted to stick close to MK. Kona would be a good choice for us. If it were just DH and I, we may hop into Trader Sam's as well ;)

That sounds good to me. That's a good idea, I would def hop on the boat and check out the POR resorts.

ETA: I noticed you don't have a lot of evening plans. We are going for an adults only trip end of this month and with the weather being HOT, as it will be in August...we are planning on early AM and LATE evening touring, as late as possible lol. I mean it's gonna be as hot as you know where and the humidity making it feel so much worse. Sounds like you're having an adults only trip too, so if it's possible and something you're interested in...I would think about some afternoon breaks/naps/pool time something to get out of the worst of the heat.

Thank you so much for all your help! Actually, I have night-blindness. I know WDW is pretty well lit at night, and I'm confident I'll be able to navigate with DF's help, but that's why I try to tour during the day. I totally agree about the midday-walking-on-the-sun-heat. We try to do rope drop every day and get as much done in the morning as possible. Enjoy your adults-only trip!!!

Ahhh, makes sense! Hope you have wonderful time!!

I think first MK day sounds good, but when we did EMM, we were so full from breakfast that we didn't eat lunch. Also, we did the safari around 1:00pm and were amazed at the number of animals we saw- far more than when we did a morning safari. Just do it when it fits in your plans. Also, Kali was so refreshing in the late afternoon-we were begging to get wet. We left afterwards for a dinner at Sanaa and we were pretty dry by the time we go there.

I think this is a plan..............it trys to not zigzag as much as possible........which is always important to me! I don't even mind you 8/23 AK day........its open.........to me that's the key you can change it up on the fly! I do wonder about a 12:00 ADR at Rose & Crown then an early dinner in France..........but again you don't put a specific time so there's flexibility there :-) There is quite a few dinners outside the parks that require a bus or some other form of transport.............are you using a car? All that back and forth over a long trip in August........makes me tired..........but hey that's the OP.......you seem to have done this before so...........go for it!

Hey I really like what you have...........there's flexibility and your attitude about it all is great! :D

Thank you! We do try to be as flexible as possible. Our Rose & Crown lunch reservation is actually because of some suggestions on these boards. Because of the Illuminations dessert party, most said not to do a TS dinner, since we would be stuffed right before the party. DF will probably get a sandwich at 5-ish from France, and if I'm hungry I may get something.

We won't be using a car, we'll be using WDW transportation. I'm thinking monorail for Coral Reef ADR, bus to AKL for Boma, boat to Cape May Cafe, and monorail to 'Ohana. Only pain is going to be DS day, I think. Thank you for your advice! :goodvibes

I love this!!!!!!!!!! :D You're using all the transportation that Disney has to offer..........Awesome! My wife and I are doing a 4 park/1 day deal in November..........we'll BUS to AK........BUS to HS..........BOAT to Epcot..............MONORAIL to MK. That's what makes a trip fun...........find ways to mix it up!
