Your ADR's look great. We will be there the same time. The only places we are eating are Cape May Clam Bake and Chef Mickey's christmas morning. Our family loves Sci Fi. How old are your kids? It really is a lot of fun. OT - It's not very often I see the name Hadley. I have a Hadley and she's 11 yrs old. I just love the name!!!

I love the name Hadley :) My Hadley is 4 1/2 and full of spunk! I love seeing the name on other little girls too.

It seems a lot of people like SciFi and a lot like 50's Prime Time. We're going to be in WDW 12/27-1/2 and are doing DHS on NYE. We ate at SciFi for dinner when we were there in 2006. The kids loved it and my husband and I thought the theme was cute, but we hated the restaurant. We won't be back. We didn't like the food and thought the service was really slow. And after seeing the loop of film clips about 4 times, it really gets old. Since nothing else appeals to us in the TS restaurants there, we'll be leaving the park for dinner and walking over to Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. You do have the option of going over to the Beach Club or Boardwalk for food (boat ride or 15 minute walk). You could also take the boat to Epcot and eat there. But as I said, your kids will probably get a big kick out of SciFi, just don't expect great food.

If you want low key, try Mama Melrose. If it's a choice between Sci-Fi and 50's, my family prefers the home cooking at 50's. The place is high energy usually with lots of interaction with waiters.

My family LOVES Sci-Fi. I get a lot of grief if we don't go there EVERY visit. My kids are now DS 13 & DD 7 but we first started going there when DS was 4.

We ate at 50s Prime Time at Christmas last year. The theming is cute but I don't think my kids really "got it" or cared much (i.e. the waitress acting like mom, etc.). I thought the food was so-so.

It's been awhile since we've eaten at Mama Melroses but IMHO it's really nothing special. It just seemed like we were eating Italian at any restaurant at home.

Brown Derby is very nice. The food is good. Your kids might not care but it might be nice for you and your spouse to have the opportunity to eat someplace "adult". :) Of course, the kids are very welcome there too.

It's been a LONG time since we ate at Hollywood and Vine and I remember the buffet food was NOT good and in recent reviews I've read I'd say nothing has changed. The only draw would be the characters from Disney Channel--and even those could stand an update.

What about skipping an ADR that day and just eating at the counter service Pizza Planet?? Your kids might enjoy it! Otherwise, my vote would be for Brown Derby then 50's Prime Time. (Assuming you've kept your earlier in the week Sci-Fi ADR--that's a MUST in my family's book.) And don't forget to see the Osborne Lights at DHS!! They are not to be missed!!

We were at WDW for our first Christmastime visit last year. Wish we were going again this year! Have fun!!!

We ate at Mama Melrose's in May as part of our Fantasmic Dinner Package. "Molto Buono" :cool1:

We like the Hollywood Brown Derby. The kids are into Asian Fusion, and the coconut fried tofu dish is one of their favorites!

I like the seared wasabi-crusted tuna, service is quick, polite and professional, and it's centrally located.

We're doing the Fantasmic dinner package in Dec so I'll be splurging on early dinner that day!

Dec 19- Crystal Palace 4:15 MVMCP that night This sounds great
Dec 20-epcot nap Ohana's 8pm (fireworks at 10) Are you staying at a MK resort? If so, this plan is good. But...can your 1 year old wait that long for dinner? Also---'Ohana is the one restaurant where we ALWAYS have to wait extra time to get seated, so that could be a problem if you were planning to watch the fireworks outside of the restaurant.
Dec 21-Ak - Boma's at 5:30 good plan!
Dec 22-DHS-sci fi at 5:15 but really really don't know about this one (what is the best ts in dhs)?????? or Kona's at 7:00pm ]As others have said, Sci-Fi has a really fun atmosphere and if the kids are enthralled with the movie clips, you parents will be able to have a quiet meal! :) The food is nothing to get excited about. We ordered burgers, fries, and shakes and they were fine--yes, you can ask for burgers, even if they're not on the dinner menu. Another thing to consider---not to be sexist, but my sci-fi/gross-out loving boys love the Sci-Fi restaurant, but the little girls next to us didn't like the movie clips at all. If I was taking little girls (is Alex short for Alexandra?) I'd go to Kona for dinner.
Dec 23-epcot - Akershus breakfast 8:30am I'm sure your girl(s) will love this! Since you are going at a busy time, IF there are any ADRs at opening, I'd try to snag that to avoid the huge crowds and chaos. Just for fun, I checked to see if an earlier time was available and an 8:15 ADR popped up.
Dec 24-MK BBB 4pm and CRT 5:30 Do you have enough time for your BBB appointment (I've heard that they run anywhere from 45 min for hair to 1.5 hours for hair, make-up, and dress) if BBB is running late? I would assume that they are going to be running late by 4 pm on that very busy day.
Dec 25- Pirate Cruise 9:30am Chef Mickeys 5:30 and SLeigh Ride at 8pm What fun! How smart to avoid the parks on this crazy day.
Dec 26- DHS - no food yet as I have no clue where to eat here HELP ME DECIDE!!! Mama Melrose's is one of my very favorite restaurants! Love it!
Dec 27-MK 1900parkfare 6pm I've been wanting to try this, but my boys have vetoed anything Cinderella! pirate:

Have a great vacation!

We like 50s Prime Time at DHS. The interaction with the wait staff can be alot of fun if you play along. I've always loved the pot roast there and the desserts.

I don't think you had Teppan Edo on the list did you? If not, that is another GREAT one. Food is wonderful and it is also very entertaining.
