Hi,

Well CL_slinkyman was told that we would not be able to use the work taken in signatures anymore. To be sure he asked staff himself and here is picture of response he got back-this has NOT been edited:

Woot woot,Glad that taken is gojng bye bye now.I Wonder if they will take out the word taken now.and if somebody say if there taken or not are they going to start giveing people the big banned. :cool1: :cool1:

as a test (a risky test may I add), I added " - taken" to my signature and it changed just fine with no problems or issues.
(I prompty took it out after I saw it was changed)

I can confirm this as I was the one who told Slinky about this after being in a room where VMK_Bingo was asked about the whole taken situation with the rooms. She requested that if we see anybody with it in their signature to kindly ask them to remove it, especially those of us that are CL's. ;)

Hi,

Thanks dragon I did not want to mention you with out your permission. When he asked the staff and got reply I asked him what he thought if I should post it or not. He said it would be 1 way to get the word out. He seems to be taking his leader position very seriously. I was keeping an eye on him. He handled several situations calmly and with great patients. I am proud of him but will always be looking out that he does a good job :)

YAY! This makes me so happy. I was just sitting here tonight with my 12-year old sis (who's starting to get into VMK) explaining what taken is on here and why if any boy asks her about it, to walk away or to say she doesn't do taken. Hopefully she won't run into this problem as much now!

OMG! Yippy! I am doing a happy dance right now! :dancer:

Does this mean that staff may be taking out "taken" in VMK soon? It would seem that staff would want CL's to know so that they can change their signatures asap. :confused3 Oh I can only hope! That would make VMK sooo much better for everyone!
:worship: Staff, Please please pretty please take "Taken" out of VMK's life! :worship:
VMK is not a online dating service for kids

I do have a question on this subject or relating to it. I read in the newsletter about the talking of sexual and adult conversations on vmk and that you should report the people doing it. Well I saw a girl walk up to a new guest and say "hey bay be, want me to take off all my clothes for you?". The response I got back was something like this:

If somebody is harassing you, click the ignore button.

Now what is the purpose of reporting someone if they tell you to ignore them? And who actually investigates this stuff?

Did you put in your message what was said? It helps a lot now if you repeat what was said in your message to staff, BUT ONLY IN YOUR MESSAGE TO STAFF. Do NOT repeat it in the game otherwise. >_<

If you just put somebody said something bad, they will give you the standard ignore, especially these days as they get so many reports and they would have to go back to the transcripts to find out. On the other hand if you tell them what was said, then they can judge the gravity of it and take action right away if necessary. The more detail in your report, the better.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong in this but when you report it I have been specifically saying that the person I am reporting said... And then I say what they have said. From what I remember when reporting it is needed to give as much info as possible so that they can investigate, but I also believe that as long as you specify that you are repeating in the report what was said then you should be safe. So far I have not had an issue.

There have now been two instances I have come across with boys saying stuff about make out to a girl. The first instance a room warning came across and in response to my report I was told they would look into it. Tonight in a friend's room it happened again and I reported and the response I got back was Thank you for reporting and that the issue had been handled.

ETA lol I was beat to this but glad to know I was not wrong in this ;)

Yes, I tried to put it in word for word as it was put on the screen.

I find the report feature so frusrating to use with the limited words, that when I feel the need to really report someone, I will generally put in the report something like this:
"was calling people bad things, please check the chat in <name of room>"

If they ban somebody for "being taken", without taking out the word taken, then the ban won't be fair.

no, you can use words in the dictionary in numerous ways.

i have taken your inferno :) (this is not only acceptable! but you should actually really give me your inferno!)

You are allowed to use the word taken still, just not in the context of a relationship.

Looks like I need to take "Don't do the taken thing" out of my signature. I'm happy to hear about this. :thumbsup2
