The Dreams items were GIFTS given in the true spirit of giving by the VMK staff. They were not items that we bought with our own hard-earned credits like the minnie hat or green explorer.

I would LOVE to see this GIVING continue on past the Dreams month, but looks like that is not going to happen since the greed and selfishness is still running rampant. And YES, I think it's greed and selfishness. Is it really going to hurt you to GIVE your ears away rather than take someone's rare items? Come on, the smile on that person's face and the joy in their heart is worth far more than owning a stitch or inferno or minnie.

Edited to add: Stephen, I wish you had posted your name on the wanted dreams ears thread. You would have surely been gifted a pair rather than trading away a HM clock.

Yes i totally agree with Pink! The ears given out as a gift!! We didn't pay for them and so people who wasn't lucky enought to be gifted should not have to be giving all that they have to get one! How can we expect vmk to contuine the thought of giving the room or any other dream item again if all we do is show greed!! So plz ...think of how happy and excited when you got you FIRST pair of Dream Ears! That is how the person who don't have one will feel!!

I strongly agree that the ears should be gifted or traded for other dream items you did not get. Say one got pin but really wants ears and you want the pin. That is fair.

Or something that is buyable for halloween could be fair too if the person who has ears is poor and in need of credits.


I strongly disagree with gettting rare items for dream hats.

To say you worked hard at gettting them by sitting all day everyday does not make the mark. There were lots of players that did that and ended up with nothing.

Greed just makes me mad. I do not understand why Dis is allowing trading rare for ears. I thought what set us apart from other boards was our care for each player. Guess that is not the case anymore.

I think that just shows selfishness.

Rant over. I will gift my few. I will not nor ever take advantage of someones disappointment to get ahead.

I might as well chime in. As you have already seen, we (the moderators) have no intention to prevent trading away/for dream ears. I personally will not , but I also understand where the opposite view comes from.

For me, I just witnessed to much greed during the dream month to have a clear conscience . I mean wow, some people got none, and we are starting to see that some people had like 20 @_@. I wont go off on that tangent ROFL promise.

I do completely agree that it is nobody's business if some want to trade them and what for. At the same time, from the other point of view. Don't be shocked if people roll their eyes when they witness some of the things written in a trade thread.

It is an individual decision, and both points of view are welcome here.

I'm in the middle here. I believe that those with multiple dream ears should feel morally obligated to gift some of their extras in the spirit of dream month. At the same time I don't see a problem with trading them if someone isn't taken advantage of. I would never dupe some poor kid into trading a super rare item to me for something of lesser value but on the same token I find it doubtful that many young kids are running around with minnie or stitch hats or haunted mansion clocks. All I know is that I've been trying to get some of those rare items forever and a day so if someone wants to trade one for dream ears, I'm certainly not going to turn them down. I wouldn't call that greedy if both parties are interested and on the same token I would probably take something lesser for a pair of dream ears, as long as it wasn't buyable.

Having said all of that, I only have one extra pair and already have intentions of gifting them to a friend when I see her so all of this is pretty irrelevant to me. Just my opinion though.

It's easy for someone who already has everything to preach that everyone should give their ears away. The fact is the ears are rare. Why shouldn't they be traded as such? I'm sure there are people out there who have not been able to trade for minnnie ears before, but maybe now they can. Good for them. The fact that they were a gift from vmk doesn't make a difference. Nobody cried a few months ago when people traded their inferno that was gifted from vmk.

Just because you see someone trading their ears doesn't mean they haven't also gifted a pair or two. Or gifted in a zillion other ways. Like another poster said - not everyone advertises every gift they give. Who are you to tell me I'm a bad person because I don't gift my dream ears? I've gifted quite a lot of items but deciding to trade this one item makes me a terrible, greedy person? I find this attitude nauseating and incredibly offensive.

This is my thought too. I saw a room last night where the owner had advertised he had six! pairs of ear available for trade and he had a list of what he wanted for them, all of it was rare or beta.

IMO, that was just wrong. I only have 1 pair of ears, but I have still contemplated gifting them to a child that never got them. The greed I've seen really saddens me.

Of course I was trying for the room, but no luck there. lol But in my endless search for items I did not have gave me access to have a few extra dreams ears. Well to quote people in my trading past "this is super rare and you will have to give much more for them"

I am sorry more people did not get dreams items, and I am sorry that we were given more than one of an item during our search for items we did not have, but when we could not obtain items from the past due to the greediness of others we attempted to trade with, then in my opinion what goes around comes around, and some of the greedy traders of past items are now getting a taste of their own medicine by seeing how it is to be on the wrong end of a rare item trade.

So before you condemn the people with extra dreams items, maybe you should go all the way back to all free items and stop the madness. I have been trying to get a Hyena pin for 6 months now, and nobody is giving them up very cheap. But you got those for free, so what is the difference? And what about the Mighty Eye pin? that was a pin you got from trading with the host, gift them all around to everyone that does that have one.

When I first started on this site I could not believe some of the prices of these items you people were asking. 30,000 credits for something you paid 1000 for, wow.... thats not greedy is it?

If you want to see greed and selfishness, go to the host pin trading event today or one later this month. I will almost bet 8 out of the 10 people you see in line will have all the pins the host is trading on them, sometimes more. How are us newer people suppose to get these items when you old timers are hoarder everything up?

I have not listed dreams ears for trade in fact I have gifted 2 sets so far to my friends along with a dreams poster, and a code for a explorers tent. But I have no problem with somebody offering their dreams items up for trade and wanting something they don't have. If you don't like what they are wanting, move along until you find someone that wants what you are willing to offer. Or just do without, like I have on alot of items.

well excuse me, free is free, dreams or not it was just another type of host game, the game was to find the host to get prize, in my opinion this took more time and effort then going into host room and choosing teleporter to win.

Hunting down host all day on VMk was a quest also, and it lasted alot longer than the quests for those items.

oh give me a break, it was a host event like any other host event, just because it was titled dreams you people get on your soap box and cry. Yes I am saddened that not everyone got the dream ears especially the smaller children. But alot of people on here have posted numerous times about how mad they are when VMK brings back a rare item so us newer people can get it for a reasonable price. I have always said VMK should just release these items the same time every year and for the same prices. It would make VMK a much happier place.
