Hi all,

It just makes me absolutely ill to see what people are asking for Dreams ears and pins.

To see these trade for Princess Minnie and Green Explorer just makes me sad beyond words.

There really is no way to explain to those asking such high level items why it is just wrong because it falls on deaf ears. The greed that kicks in is just sickening. However, if people won't offer it, people will see they cannot ask for it.

I was just in a trade room trying to get a fairy pin for a friend. The owner had the following written in the "i" button:

"Come offer for my extra dream ears.. already turned down green explorer."

When I asked why he turned that down he told me, "Are you serious? It's not even close to enough." After I told him I have gifted 3 pairs today and did he really think that was a fair trade for those who didn't get lucky enough to get them, well, hehe I was booted. :cool1:

PLEASE do not offer your valuable stuff for dreams ears and pins. I HATE watching people take advantage of others. Of course, we all knew this would happen. It's why VMK made them not trade-able, but it's just so sickening to see.

Sigh.... The evil eye of greed pops up again. Be careful out there everyone!

I didn't know they were tradeable. That's mean though. I can't belive all the ignorant rude people out there.:sad2:

Nicely said, Jegrezo! The greed going on over Dreams items makes me sick.

Folks, this is a VIRTUAL game. These are just pixels, nothing more. Please rise above the greed and utter selfishness and show some character here.

That's just absolutely wrong. So many people have received ears because of a good friend either here or on VMK telling hosts to gift them to a friend. It's downright outrageous that people would go and trade them for ultra rare items (or to even have the audacity to turn down rare items for them!) I totally agree with you Dreams. I mean, I have wanted the Minnie hat forever now and I've got a pair of Dream ears because of an unknown good friend either here or on VMK and I STILL would not think it's right to trade them away for a Minnie hat, even if someone would take it. I think the people who have the Minnie hat and are willing to trade them off should most definitely get in contact with people who have extra and are willing to trade it for something less, if not gift them. Where's the VMK joy in scamming each other for rare items? Sorry, that was a little long, just my 2 cents.

Nicely said. I know I don't have any of the dream items myself and would love to have them but if someone wants stuff like that in return forget it. It isn't happening here. Especially when so many of those ears were gifted out by hosts like they were and many people ended up with tons of them.

Yeah...it does make me kinda sad seeing people pay so much for this stuff....I already gifted a pair of ears and a pin today, but it seems people are turning "Dreams" into "Nightmares"

I have promised not to trade my extra pairs of ears out at all. I traded an extra pin i had for a set of ears to gift away. I agree with everyone here. Normally with stuff like this, i'd be one of the ones doing the trading, but this is different...these were gifts to us, gifts from our friends, the hosts and vmk.

I have already gifted one pair, intend on doing the others tonight or tomorrow.

:sad1:

I got offered sparrow hat for a dream ears. I thought oh yeah i should take this, then I thought about this thread a little bit ago. I ended up just giving it to him for free and told them to "think before they do".

It kinda feels good too do that

I have not seen this going on personally, but I am going to take the opposite approach here. I take a different view.

I have traded many things to get the 1 item I wanted. Maybe others think it is a bad trade, but I got what I really wanted and that is all I cared about. ;) Somebody else may have banked, but I got something I was looking for.

While I do not want to see anybody make a trade they will later regret the value of trade for one VIRTUAL item for another VIRTUAL item is solely in the eye of the people doing the trade.

Nobody on these boards or within the VMK community should ever tell anybody what they should or should not trade. Each person should use their own disgression as to what is best for THEM and leave it at that. Politely accept or decline, end of story.

Fact is, dream items are rare since everybody did not get them. Guess what, so are Minnie ears and inferno and a number of other items. That is what makes it special and that is what puts the fun in trading. If you do not want to trade yours and you feel like it is unfair, then you should do what is best for you.

I know you guys probably get tired of me saying this, but this is a game and the items are worthless, other than to the "virtual owner". You can't sell them for real money, you can't wear them on your real person and you can't use magic in real life.....so each person should play the game and trade what feels best to them. I really like playing VMK as much as the rest of you and would miss playing it if it is gone, but it is just a game. If I or somebody else chooses to trade half of their clothing for some rare ears, who is anybody else to tell them not to. ;)

I see no difference in the people who trade the dreams items or the people who trade the stitch hats, minnie hats, sparrow outfits, green explorer, and gray mansion. If they can ask for top dollar, so should the people who want to trade the dream items. Not everyone got them, and not everyone has the other items either. The only difference is the people with the super rare, now have to deal with getting something and giving alot for it. The shoe is just on the other foot now.

And if anybody wants to sell or trade any of those so called super rare items without being greedy, please post what you want.

:thumbsup2 I agree. Fact is, if both parties are happy with the trade then all is good. If you are not happy with a trade or do not think it is fair then don't do it.

Yep, I agree 100%. I just think some of the younger players may give away everything they have in a desperate effort to get blue ears and I think that's is sad when some have sooooo many.

Maybe it's the nature of what the dreams ears are that makes it hit a spot, idk. I just hope some of the younger players do give it all, only to regret it later.

Of course if both parties are happy, that's what matters and yep, we all know it's just pixels. Just sad to see a kid give all their pixels for 1 thing that some got soooo many of.

I have mixed feelings about this. I didn't want them to be tradable because of other players greed. My heart goes out to the children who will give up anything for the ears. As adults we know our limits, but what about the
7 year-old who didin't get their dream fulfilled? I agree that if there are 2 adults who agree with the trade that it should take place, but as a parent I look at how the children will be affected

That's why I'm glad lots of people did end up getting ears on the last day of the month...let's not go there though, because the greed of the entire event frustrates me.

There are a few people that I knew were trying all month to get the ears & didn't that are getting them from me. No items needed, they are a gift. Right now, with today being the first day they are tradeable, of course people are going to get "top dollar" for them. That's why they planted so many mules in several locations to hoard the dream items, because they figured they would be tradeable one day.

Some of my friends knew how much this upset me, and they too have helped gift ears to our friends who didn't get them. Like someone said, the feeling of giving is so much more fulfilling than the act of receiving.

To DisneyDreams: How would you know what the exact offer was anyway? Perhaps it was not for everything you thought; perhaps person doesn't even like the item of whatever the offer was, perhaps the person already had what was being offered, perhaps whoever made the offer changed the offer last minute...Also perhaps that person has already gifted others, you just don't know it; (some don't "advertise to the world" that they gift people.)

Here, Here! I agree with you bytheblood and gshawen! I have made trades where I have come ahead because the other party really wanted an item I had; and others have come way ahead because I wanted a particular item. Dream ears are no different than any other item "given" by hosts for any other event. Or no different than..oh, say the middle submarine piece which is then traded for "high value"(just an example...for any item which can only be "gotten/given" from attending the parks --which not everyone in vmk can do) ...hmmm
yes, the shoe is just on the other foot now...

I have not seen this going on personally, but I am going to take the opposite approach here. I take a different view.;)

I applaud you. I think the first post has good intentions but seriously who is anyone here to dictate what someone can or cannot trade? Value is based on you, what you perceive it to be. It's one thing to warn people about fraud or scams, but I don't agree with these blanket "warnings" about not trading altogether. So what if someone has ten pairs of ears and you have none, how is that their problem? Friends might gift you, consider yourself lucky but these demands are silly.

My HM Clock brings me value and reasonably happiness in the game, as a player. I love using it, however I also love the Dream Ears. I traded them, and while some might say "bad trade" I am very happy with this trade. I got the ears I really wanted and am very happy. You see a HM clock may bring you more value because you only have one or two, but I had seven so I could "afford" to trade it. The ears brought me more value than the extra clock. Where did I go wrong? Should I have been greedy and instead demanded five ears? No.

People can ask what they want of things but the real measure is whether someone will actually execute the trade. So leave it alone, let it be. I think too many people here like to focus on the negatives of VMK (OMG people are scamming toddlers, shut down VMK!) all too often.

Call me materialistic or shallow but my VIRTUAL PIXEL items do make me smile or bring me joy. Not the sheer joy of somethings in life but it makes me happy. I was so happy to have Dreams Ears, and the price didn't matter to me. I know some will say "dreams ears will probably come back or be sold" but you know what I say? Are you sure? And when? I am not holding my breath anymore, I used to wait and wait but now I just get what I want. Life is too short to wait for something to be sold again. I wanted ears today not six months later and well I paid a price that met my needs.
