Ok, on the last night of a 7 night stay, we will already have done sufficient character experiences, etc....don't mind doing another....but what I'm after is a really good dining experience.

We will be OFF plan....cost is not an issue, per se. I will have a 9 y.o and a 6 y.o with me along with my spouse. Kids are pretty good eaters. 6 year old is like a goat...will eat anything.

Seafood is not an option.

We can: do Chef Mickey's (yawn...and I don't like the food). Le Cellier is an option. I've also heard about a Japanese steakhouse where they prepare the food in front of you. And maybe the Chinese restaurant.

What would you recommend? And have you been to the Japanese steakhouse? What about Le Cellier? What about steakhouse at Yacht club?

We really like Le Cellier. Nine Dragons is good too, don't know if that falls under great food though. Via Napoli is really good, Yachtsman steakhouse too.

Teppan Edo is a lot of fun. Food is good but it's similar to any hibachi place. If you have one at home go there instead. If not I'd choose this one cause it's a cool experience the kids would enjoy.

Haven't made it to LeCellier.

Yatchsman is FANTASTIC! We really enjoy it and the atmosphere is very kid friendly. If you are looking for steak you are going to laugh but the best steak we had (and meal in general) was at Flying Fish! (They have more than seafood ;)) My kids handsdown said it was their favorite.... but I think they were partial to the paint your own puzzle dessert!

Tepan Edo the Japanese steakhouse is fun and memorable. You would have to join another family at a table though. We like Tokyo dining a great deal. It is in the same building. I also enjoy the Chinese restaurant, but I wouldn't call it a great last night experience. Le Cellier has good food. I like the Coral Reef restaurant for atmosphere. I also think the Brown Derby is a good choice. If you want to ride the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jiko is a fantastic last night event.

Ok, tell me more about Jiko please....

We are HUGE fans of both Flying Fish Cafe and Jiko.

If we had to pick one, Flying Fish is always my family's choice and I would be the only one to get seafood. Kids both get steaks (they are 13 and 15 now, when they were younger they would share an adult meal) and DH usually gets anything from steak to pork chop - even had osso bucco there. it's wonderful. this is a "Must visit" for our family on every trip!!

Jiko is great, too. I think that just hanging out at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite things to do at Disney. We love to sit by the fire it in the lobby! Jiko has a great fruit salad appetizer for the kids and the wine list in really nice - all African wines, I think, so nothing was very familiar the first time we went, but the waitstaff was very helpful. Again this is a restaurant where my children would share an adult steak dinner when they were younger and be very happy. DH had a monkfish there that was quite tasty.

Hope that was helpful.

Bon Appetit!

I loved Le cellier the first time.. and the second thought it was Ok.. Honestly, there are so many great places to eat especially in Epcot.. We really enjoyed La Hacienda in Mexico.. I have great friends that really enjoyed the atmosphere at Beirgarden and they enjoyed the food.. Italian at Via Napoli as well.. I really love the restaurants at the boardwalk area as well.. Flying fish and Yachtmans too..

Everybody seems to love Flying Fish.... I suppose that's a place we could eat and then stick around for Boardwalk Entertainment?

Coming out of left field on this one but what about California Grill to watch Wishes from the rooftop. It's a great way to top of a great trip.

This is a good idea. Narcoossee's is good, too. If you time the reservation right, you can watch the MK fireworks and the water parade. They pipe in the music and you can go outside on the deck. There's a lot to look at from in there, and the food and atmosphere are wonderful.

Yachtsmen Steakhouse is our last night tradition for DH and I, always a great meal and good service. Since you have kids you might consider the Boma, great variety of food and even fun for an adventurous eater. Come early and check out the lodge, animals on Arusha savanna and story time around the Fire pit. Make an ADR at either place Boma books quickly. On our November trip we have 1 night at the Yachtsmen, 1 dinner at the Boma, 2 breakfast at the Boma.

By really good dining experience, do you mean just the food or the overall experience? If the latter, how about HDDR? That's what we did for the last night of our trip and we (DW, DD6, DS3) all had a blast. Since you're not on DDP, you could book Cat 1. We sat right by the stage by the banjo and piano player. My kids had a great time talking to them during the breaks.

I really enjoyed California Grill in the Contemporary Resort my last meal. If you time it right they have a great observation deck to view wishes from. If you get lucky and have a seat by the window you don't even need to use the deck! They dim the lights in the restaurant and play the wishes music from the park inside and out! They even held our meal in the kitchen so we could go outside and watch! Wonderful experience our last night! Hope you guys have fun!!:thumbsup2

Flying Fish was excellent. DH said it's his new fave.
