Please advise! What would be a better deal?

My head starts to spin when I look at all the different prices, options, etc. Can someone who is better at this tell me which would be the less expensive option?

Right now - we have a room only reservation at Pop Century - standard room - June 2-9 - 7 nights - with AAA discount. Cost : $656 or approx 93 per night (including taxes) - Our dates do not have to be set in stone - our girls get out of school May 27th - so we could go a little earlier.

We planned to get 7 day parkhopper (expiring) passes from Ticketmania using the mousesavers link - We need two adult and two children's tickets. We were not going to get the waterpark option so we could save a few bucks (we have annual waterpark passes in town, and would go maybe once in FL if at all) - but if it's free - hey - we'll take it!

We were not planning to do the meal plan - we tend to do breakfast in room, and then sandwiches/lunch in the room and eating dinner out (nothing too fancy). We aren't against splitting meals, etc for counter service places - at a table service place - I would just feel cheap LOL.

So should I pursue Disney's deal? Is it that impressive? Can I even use the AAA discount with it?

Since the deal is until June 3rd - how would that work if we checked in on June 2nd? Would it be still be good for a trip that continued past the exp. date??

Thanks for any advice you can offer!!

Hi Carol! I crunched some numbers for you and I think you are still getting a better deal by doing the AAA room only discount over switching to a regular reservation and taking advantage of the ticket upgrade. Here is what I found:

By booking POP for your travel dates using the AAA discount, you are saving $121.70 on your room.

The ticket purchase is where the savings gets a little tricky. Since you originally only wanted 7 day hoppers (no water park), here is how I crunched:

If you went through Disney to get the ticket upgrade instead of going through ticketmania for the 7 day hopper only no expiry, it is only a savings of $96 (so your room discount wins out on this one)

HOWEVER, the savings jumps a bit when you compare the ticketmania 7 day hopper with water parks no expiry vs. the Disney ticket upgrade offer. If you were originally going to purchase THOSE tickets the savings jumps to $136 (a $15 savings over the room only discount)

So, in conclusion(!) by switching your ressie to the Disney ticket upgrade package, you're really only saving IF you actually use the water park and other perks available on the upgraded ticket!! Does that make sense?

I am not sure if you are using the link on the mousesavers site or receiving the mousesavers newsletter for your ticket discount? If you aren't receiving the newsletter yet, I HIGHLY suggest you subscribe as you can typically save even more on tickets through the newsletter!!!!

I hope this helps!
