Pleas. Island, for kids?

Hi everyone, my dilemma for the day is Pleasure Island, I want to go just to check it out at night time but I am with my 7 year old son,. Anyone been there with this age of child? Where did you go? Any thoughts would be great!

I wonder the same thing. My DD will be turning 6 while we're there. Now that the don't charge to enter PI I was thinking of checking it out with her (I've been a few times before with my DM). I know she'll like the fireworks (if we stay til 12) but what else will keep her interest? Thanks.

PI is clubs, a few restaurants and a few odd shops. I can't see kids staying very interested in it for long; I didn't.

They sell jello shots on the streets. The whole island is one big nightclub. If you wouldn't take your seven year old to a bar, don't take them to PI.

Its usually pretty tame early in the evening, but you can't control other people. Some people may have gotten a head start at the hotel bar and already be quite trashed by 8:00pm. And don't expect other people to moderate their behavior because you think that its ok to bring a seven year old. There may be adult language, their may be PDA, their may be people so drunk they can barely stand, there may be women in clothes you wouldn't let your daughter wear.

The fireworks are about 30 seconds worth. Don't blink, you'll miss them.

Just my 2 cents... I don't feel that Pleasure Island is a place for children. Adults tend to act, well, adult like there and in order to protect children, I think that you are better off seeing the fireworks at one of the parks. Not to mention, would you really keep your 7 year old out to midnight, at a bar or anywhere else?

Pleasure Island is geared toward adults. While there may be a few clubs you can take the little ones into, it is NOT a place for kids.

I have to echo what was said above, if you wouldn't take your kids to a Night Club/Bar at home then why would it be okay at WDW?

Kids were there--but it is a bit odd--b/c people are there partying.

I was there Memorial Day weekend--I had forgotten that they had the island open...and it was quite bizarre to see people there with their kids.

If you really want to go--I'd go closer to 7pm and leave by 9 at the latest.

Would you really want your kid to see people in full "clubbing" behavior?

Perhaps placing your child in one of the kids clubs for the evening so you can have an adult night out?

We took our DD's to PI when they were 5 and 8, NOT a good idea. The 5 yr old slept in my arms the whole night and when in a bar, my DD 8 yr old felt uncomfortable and did not want to stay. Would I recommend taking an 8 year old, NO.

My thoughts exactly!! Too many other things to do at WDW at night!
