Pleae help

Question - If my use year is September is it Sept 1-Sept 1 or Sept 31-Sept 31? So I just bought in May. I am assuming I would not have been able to use until Sept 01, 2007 and then use by Sept 01 2008 for our first set of points. Or since I bought in May were the point available right away and I only have until May 2008 to use them to Sept 01. Just asking because our fisrt DVC vacation is next August 2008 which I was thinking would put me right at the end of use year.

Anyone understand what I am talking about?

A Sepetmber use year runs from September 1 to through August 31 of the following calendar year.

Your UY would be Sept 1st to Aug 31st.
If you have a trip planned in Aug of 08 then you would use Sept 07UY points to cover this vacation. But since you just bought in you may have 06 UY points to use, yes?? If so you would need to bank those and use them for your Aug 08 trip.

A September Use Year will run from September 1 - August 31.

If you purchased at AKV you just got your first year of points on September 1. These points may be used thru August 31, 2008. If you won't use all of those points by that date you'll need to bank them which gives until August 31, 2009 to use them.

If you purchased at SSR, you would have received September, 2006 points which should have already been banked so they could be used thru AUgust 31, 2008.

Based on your signature, I assume you bought AKV. That is a brand new resort that started with the 2007 Use Year, so there are no 2006 points at AKV.

As Doc said, your first set of points are your Sep 2007 points.

We just purchased and we took SSR in order to get a March UY. We just purchased and receved our allotment with the March UY. We will now get our next set of points in March 2008. If you buy in September you will get an April UY. If you buy AKV you will actually be getting your points in January of 2008. Hope that helps.
