Plea to the DVC masters: re:banking and borrowing

I need the aid of the DVC masters. Planning a trip for the future. In 2010, we'll need a two bedroom and we're working with a small contract.(June use year)

So if I bank my 2009 points to 2010, they'll be available for a July 2010 trip or any time between June 2010 and May 2011. And I think I can also borrow from 2011 if I don't have enough points. Is that right? I get confused because the reservation will be made 7 months out (Jan 2010). But since the trip will be during the 2010 use year I should be fine. Maybe. Does it matter when I make the reservation? Or is it the timing of the trip during the use year that is critical

You've got the banking and borrowing correct. You can bank 2009 points in to 2010, and you can also borrow 2011 points into 2010. All those points would then be available for a vacation any time within your 2010 use year.

As for reservations, that has absolutely nothing to do with use year. So for a 7-month reservation for a July 2010 trip, you can call in December 2009.

For example, if your check-in date would be July 15th, then you can call on December 15th to make that reservation.
